Keep it you will love it! Hubby comes home not knowing I got Echo so he walks into the door and while he is taking his shoes and coat off I say "Alexa what's the temperature outside? She then answers. He got all big eyes all his knows about Echo is what little I told him. So he says right after "Alexa Play Garth Brooks." Alexa then answers "Playing Garth Brooks." Then Garth begins to play and hubby is astounded and so tickled he began to do a little dance to Garth.

He then asked her a bunch of questions which should didn't understand so I went about doing things when I came back he had figure out how to get Alexa to play a radio station and a loud song came on. He said "Alexa, turn it down a bit." And she did and he did another little dance.

So She is pretty easy for even novices in technology to use who have no idea how she works.

She works with TuneIN and IHeartRadio and she also via bluetooth's works with Spotify hands free.

Echo has arrived. It took me a while to get it connected to my iPhone, but managed to get that resolved. Alas, she doesn't have an answer to "Alexa, why did my husband give me the flu?"

Awww feel better this year's flu I hear is really bad. I haven't got it but I did get a flu shot even though they say it only provide a little protection.

I'm in for a bunch of shots this season. So far, I've had shots for flu and shingles. Next week I go in for my distemper and rabies shots.

New feature. While listening to an audio book on my iPod touch, I can say stop, and it will stop. Pause will stop the playing and pause will restart my audio book. Yay! This is exactly what I needed!

Tested with I touch 5, nano 7, and kindle HDX. Pausing is more instantaneous on the HDX, but it still does it within a couple of seconds. Alexa specifically says it cannot do a replay for a bluetooth device. Maybe that will be in the future.

Bluetooth connection is still working like a charm with my laptop. Listened to some John Lennon from my Amazon library when I got home after walking in 8 degrees F. coming home from work (12:30am). I had been listening with ipod/headphones (John Lennon) on the way home and wanted to hear more of it.

I wish they would make a smaller companion speaker for the bedroom. I got tired of carrying it back and forth to use as alarm for getting up, so I stopped doing that.

I don't know about the volume, but my voice is so slurred when waking up, I can't make her shut up!

While we use our phones for alarms now as you do, Alexa's single most important job is acting as a clock for my wife. It has actually displaced her bedside clock, because she can't see a clock without her glasses!

That is what I use her for mostly too and for weather. Other than that some music. I don't find her useful for much other than that. 75% of the time she gets music wrong though she hears me correctly so I just use the app to get it playing. Her Timer is off too as her idea of say 30 minutes is off by a minute or two which isn't good for cooking. I just use my Kitchen timer instead.

Haven't noticed any problem with the timer. We use it for when the kids ask for "5 more minutes" before bed time and such.
How can the timer be off by a minute when her clock is always right?

My son asks it for music a lot, and it's been pretty good about playing stuff available through Prime music.
I'm liking shopping list function. It's been very accurate, and I've always had a problem about asking my wife to get stuff but never writing it down. Now I just ask Alexa instead. The Echo's in the bedroom, but we keep the remote on the kitchen fridge for shopping lists.
