She's here! The cats went crazy watching the gold ring.

My first impression. Is my goodness she is LOUD! I got her on setting 2 and I can hear her all through out the apartment. She is alot bigger than I was thinking so I have to figure out where I am going to permanently put her. Right now I've got her behind me which wont work once hubby is home.

I know those of you complain of sound but she sounds amazing to me. The sound is very full better than anything I currently own.

I just canceled my Echo order, which had a May 7 delivery date. I decided I wouldn't get enough enjoyment out of it to justify the expenditure. So that's that.

Glad you're enjoying Echo! I agree that the sound quality is excellent, especially for a $99 speaker. And the ability to select and control music via voice or Echo app is wonderful!

If you go into your Amazon account, click on "Manage Your Content and Devices," select "Your Devices," and then "Echo," you can delete all voice recordings (Manage voice recordings). I do that every week or two.

I'm glad to hear that you like it. My alien device is being delivered tomorrow! I was thinking of selling it but now I think I will keep it.

I use tune in a lot and it seems to be compatible with it? Does it do "knock knock" jokes?

TuneIn is integrated within the free Echo app. Echo recognizes some TuneIn stations by voice; for example, "Alexa, play Radio Paradise." Also, you can connect your computer/tablet/phone to Echo via bluetooth and access TuneIn that way if you prefer.

Yes, Alexa knows "knock knock" jokes. Just say "Alexa, knock knock." If you use the remote included with the Echo device, you don't have to speak the wake word (Alexa).

That is another reason that I decided against Echo. I don't want some listening device spying on me day in and day out.

I don't have my music uploaded to the cloud, and I don't use streaming radio. Believe me, I've tried and tried to come up with reasons why I should get Echo, but I really can't think of any. So I decided to leave the queue and let everybody with a later ship date than mine move up one place!

Mine is out on tour. Yesterday it was at the Chicago sort facility. Today it is in the Skokie sort facility. Hopefully tomorrow it will make its triumphant return to Chicago.
