That's how I interpreted option 3 also. That I wouldn't trade in my 505 for a 700.

yes, option 3 means - I will pay nothing for upgrade ($0) and I don't want to make upgrade because I would like to keep my 505 unit.

I agree. I voted for option 3 and I would not upgrade even if it was free. But some people who voted for 3 may upgrade if it was free, because they had no other way of voting.

I have tested this with other large books, and get simular results. The PRS-700 can be very slow, when introduced to a new book.

Are you converting to EPUB? Try LRF, you should get better speeds.

People have different needs and different priorities.
For some people, the 505 is the better choice, and others will find that the 700 meets their needs more successfully.
I do not believe that insulting forum members who have different priorities is reasonable. Might I suggest that the discussion continues on more temperate lines?

Well said... I love my 505, out of all the models available I believe it is the best out there, -for me-. Just like the Kindle, the features of the 700 are not enough of an interest to me to make me want it anymore then design of the 505. And in several ways detract. But other people have different wants/needs and I hope that what they purchase works out great for them...

As for me, the screen is a killer. It seems as though a new user would be better then someone migrating from a 505 as the comparison between contrasts wouldn't be a problem. Or a 505 user would be better to have a short interim without eInk. Perhaps stowing the 505 for a month and reading on a laptop or such. Not taking advantage of the touchscreen for dictionary support is another.
