My Fire HD 6 hasn't updated to 4.5.2 and still indicates no updates are available.The same thing happened with 4.5.1, and that update eventually showed up on the device several days later.

I guess I'll wait and see what happens. I'm feeling too lazy to download the file to manually update right now.

UPDATE: The 4.5.2 update wasn't delivered automatically, but when I checked Settings > Device Options again late this afternoon, it was finally showing as available. My Fire HD 6 is now updated.

My Fire 6 just updated again to 4.5.2. It did that on the 13th December already and I had a update sitting half an hour ago. But battery was at 24%, so it waited until it had over 30%. Its still called 4.5.2 though, so I am confused.

Can I hope they fixed the Silk issue? I could not use silk at all, every time I opened it it froze to the point where I had to restart the device to clear the cache out. Could not clear out that page was frozen too.

But aren't updates usually always a different number? Oh well, it is what it is.

I can't afford it BUT I could not resist that 30% OFF sale today only for the 2014 HDX 8.9.

What got me was they were allowing installment payments for 5 months!

I have a 2012 HD 8.9 that has gotten long in the tooth!

Congrats!!! It's too big for me but I know alot of people like a bigger tablet and unlike the 7 the 8.9 uses white LEDs. I'll stick with my Kindle Fire 6.

Yes, me too. The Fire 6 is the sweet spot! I never really got into using our Nook HD+, which is a 9" screen, so I know better than to buy another screen that size.
