Mine was being super bratty. He tore the living room looking for something and would not tell me what was it was until he came to my side and started going to do that to my stuff. That when I pushed him away and told him to back off. Finally after he looks like he was about throw himself on the floor kicking and screaming and the living room looked like a tornado went through it he told me he was looking for his vitamins. I calmly walked over to mess all over the floor picked them up and quietly handed them to him then went back to my sofa.

So after he would not accept help with cookies although I threw a few suggestions like make sure you refrigerate the dough for an hour or more depending on how stiff you want it or the icing isn't sticking because the cookies need to cool first. I asked him while baking. Why do I smell pie crust? Now I have alot to clean today.

Picking fights with me never work. I come from a very angry abusive family who screamed and hit and busted things so I got nerves of steel when it comes to childish bratty behavior like his. I think that drives him nuts.

In reality I am his dad the calm adult one and he is totally his mom throwing hissy fits at the stupidest things. I like being dad. He is one of my heroes.

My favorites are still her early Regencies, which came out in the early 1980's (maybe some late 1970's). As hannahai mentions, they are quite tame as far as sex goes, but I'm a sucker for a hopeless romance story line. Her favorite themes are horses, Yankees baseball (for which I have to forgive her ) and history (with just a bit more grounding in history, I think, than the traditional historical romance). There's also often a bit of mystery involved. She doesn't do series, although some characters occasionally get mentioned peripherally in other books.

The two which are still $0.99 at Amazon are two of my favorites, and probably good ones to try at that price, no idea how long it will last:

Thanks Sufue for the Joan Wolf recs I have a few in my Kobo library, including Her Lordship's Mistress. I would mention that you really don't have to love horses to enjoy A London Season. I mean, there's not a lot of technical talk about horses or racing. So the author did a really good job of integrating the h/h's passion for horses without boring the reader! I'm looking forward to reading more when I have time off next week

Don't come to my house and eat anything sweet.

I only use fresh hand churned butter, fresh milk & eggs from free range chickens. Then my flour is milled in small batches and totally different than what is purchased at the store. Everything is purchased from my Amish neighbors.

I also only use raw sugar.
