Is there a way to show a list on the home page, rather than the tiles? Or is that only available in the library view?

List view isn't an option on the homescreen. You can tidy it up some though between a patch by GeoffR and the Kobo Utilities plugin. My homescreen now has only 8 tiles on, all with book covers. You still have the current read larger than the others though, otherwise you could fit 9 books on the homescreen. I'd actually prefer that if there was some way to do it.

No rooting, the patches just change some lines in the firmware so it patches to your choices instead of Kobo's bad choices. The first 2 posts in this thread explain it all. The patch for reducing the spacing between tiles on the homescreen in is Post #2.

Here's an example of what it looks like on the Glo so there's more books on the homescreen. The Collection tile can be dismissed, I usually don't have it shown.

Thanks. It looks to be a little more "detailed" than what I want to get involved with right now, but I'll keep it in my mind should should I discover some gumption discarded along the side of the road.

(I realize that it's probably not that difficult -- it's just that I'm not even up to the newest software yet, and wasn't in any hurry because I don't want to destroy my non header/no footer setting -- which I like.)

About Kobo Homescreen. Today I've discovered there's a way to make your library view the homescreen. There's a setting in Kobo ereader.conf [HomePageShown] which defines if you go to the library or the home screen when you press the home icon.

It's quite easy, you only have to edit a file.

I don't know the technical terminology I guess. I always considered "patching" to be a form of "hacking."
