Amazon was sold out when I had the opportunity to get online. Staples also had it for $150 a week or so before BF but quickly sold-out. Now the Nexus 7 goes for $200 and I won't pay that much.

I would only be using it as an ereader.

If you only want a eReader the Kindle Fire 6" is a perfect choice and price. Battery Life could be better but other than that I have no complaints. It does have the best text rendering for reading.

I do agree. I just need something bigger for myself because I use it for more than reading.

I have always preferred e-ink for reading, but I will say that my new 6" Fire has really sharp text. So far, so good. I just read a chapter from Beezus and Ramona off Scribd to my daughter from it. I'm really liking it.

It's on my radar especially as I have enough Amazon gift cards accrued to get it free (thanks Bing). The battery does worry me. I am constantly forgetting to charge things.

As soon as you figure out the battery issue I'll get one

I'm hoping a firmware update will fix that and GSam will send a reminder to charge or sound a alarm. It's a great app.

It does go through a charge pretty quickly, but on the other hand it also seems to charge up quickly.

The battery for the HD 6 is just a tad larger than some of the newer phones/phablets. Here's a chart comparing it to other devices:

Fire HD 7 = 4,400 mAh
Gal Tab 4-7 = 4,000 mAh
Nexus 7.2 = 3,950 mAh
Fire HD 6 = 3,400 mAh
Nexus 6 = 3,220 mAh
G Note 4 = 3,220 mAh
LG Volt = 3,000 mAh
LG G3 = 3,000 mAh
iPhn 6 Plus = 2,915 mAh
Galaxy S5 = 2,800 mAh
HTC 1 M8 = 2,600 mAh
Fire Phone = 2,400 mAh

Got my yellow Poetic Revolution case yesterday. Although it looks sort of green, in the package. I'll take it out tomorrow, when the kids are at school.

Mine is black. But the ones in the Revolution cases are not. I know, they will never see the device colors. I just wanted to get them anyway, to look at them. One is Blue, one is Citron. The Blue Fire is in the White Poetic case. The Yellow case goes on the Citron Fire.

And I have to say, the Fires are really pretty

My black Fire is in the black Poetic GraphGrip. With a black hair head band diagonally, for a holder!
