Can't find what? The serial port add-on? The directions are indexed in the Prefix Index under K5.SerialPort . Plus additional PW2 pictures in my KT2 exposed thread. The adapter? That should be easy, the most commonly recommended one is made by a company based in your country. The PW2 serial port image installation? At the link in the "Resources" section of the page I provided the link to. - - - - - Note: "Better questions yield better answers." |

Helpful links in the "References" section of: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...81&postcount=6 I think this one hits my daily limit of posting links to the FGA thread. Last edited by knc1; 11-26-2014 at 08:15 AM.

It's not like we've been warning people from day one that downgrading was going to be impossible on vanilla devices... . (Hell, from day minus something, since that dates back to the initial FW of the KT2 & KV, so, 5.5.0/5.6.0). |

@NiLuJe, big thanks for the jailbreak supporting upgrade to 5.6.1! In the "Latest Updates" you wrote about USBNetwork v0.18.N, but still only 0.17.N available for download. Is it OK? |

It makes perfect sense to NiLuJe's build setup - It is only the human readers that have problems with it.

Yep, the docs are (mostly) always up-to-date, so you may end up with mismatched version numbers. That, and I often forget to bump the version numbers in the docs (and/or forget that I bumped something somewhere, which is the case in this instance: updated the doc one day, then forgot to actually bump the version number, ^^). EDIT: Except I did bump it. I just forgot to post the new release packages. . Will post the proper package when I get back home, thanks . |

By the way, is usbnet some "new" process that runs on the kindle, or just some hack that unlocks access to something that is already there? I am considering installing it to give you devs more options in case my kindle goes tfu, but I was wondering if that has any impact on the system when it's not used. |

Install it, it can only help. Also install the Coward's Rescue Pack while you're at it.

The jailbreak preserves /etc/upstart/debrick which launches CRP if needed, but does not bundle the CRP itself -- that still needs to be installed separately.

Ok so my to-do list just grew to: Rescue pack Coward Rescue pack (are them different, aren't they?) usbnet (as soon as NiLuJe uploads version 0.18)

CRP was merged in RP if, and only if, you're using kaznelson's merged installer (cf. the FAQ entry in the first post) . I kept the versions in my snapshots separate, because the point of merging stuff gets moot w/ MRPI . |
