Your stylus will work fine with either and so will the plug and any cables you may still have. A few years ago they weren't shipping these things with the plugs, but my HD 6 came with one. Not sure if they're now shipping them with the other new models.

The Kindle 2 or Keyboard cases won't work as they're much bigger devices. They have a bigger bezel and the keyboard makes them longer. I just tried sticking my HD 6 into my previous sleeve just to give you the comparison.

Comics are readable on the HD 6, but you ideally want the 7 for that. The text is nice and clear, but there is a lot of white space (margins) which ruins the experience and makes it uncomfortable.

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble getting the answers you're looking for.

The bigger screen, the better, for comics. We usually view comics on our Nook HD+ which has a 9" screen. But if he is already happy with them on the 2012 HD 7, I don't see much reason to get him the 2014 HD 7. Perhaps get him the 2012 HD 8.9" instead. You can sometimes get a good price on a refurb.

I'm probably being nitpicky about this, but I don't understand why they didn't tweak the launcher for landscape mode on the HD 6 so you could access your favorites along with recent things you opened.

Remember way back in this thread when I marveled that I could read epubs in the Amazon app on the Fire? I just figured it out. I didn't have my CC settings right. So if I had mobi or azw3 files in Calibre, it was sending them, and that's why they were showing up in the Amazon app.

Good news for people that want to use Calibre and CC to send those types of files to your Fire and read with the Amazon app!

I, however, am still trying to fix my settings to prevent this.

Still totally in love with my Fire HD 6. I don't read only on it, because I have a Voyage that I also love, but the versatility of the Fire HD 6 is a great asset. Plus the format, it is so tiny and yet thanks to the HD display so clear.

Just love it !

I carry mine daily, since I got the anti-glare protector on. I like watching some of the videos I have downloaded onto it. This goes to the gym with me also.

I carry my iPads too, but they don't go into the gym with me. Variety is the spice of life.

I carry mine too and yes I have been using it more and more for different things. While my pw2 is still my primary reader weekly, I do use my Fire at night to give it a break. And to get in some audible time. The only thing lacking on it is I need to find a cover that will allow me to easily keep my stylus and micro-usb drive with it.

I took a photo copy of my hd6 and used that as a template for cutting down a nook hd+ anti-glare screen protector. I had an extra one left over from a two pack. What a difference! I didn't think that I would ever read on my hd6 because of the glare. I am glad that I tried this. It also made a huge difference in finger prints.

Oh what a good idea. Although that may not have helped me. My attempts at cutting down screen protectors are woeful.

I'm glad I am not the only one bothered by the glare. I actually can't stand it. So, even though the matte screen protectors do take away some of the sharpness, I have to them if I am going to read on a tablet.

Been taking my to the doctor's office waiting room to read on. Perfect size for reading on the go. Otherwise using it for music and text-to-speech for books.
The little Exact case has grown on me. I can't see using a bigger case at this point.

I'm currently doing a panel to pay for mine. I get a Amazon gift card at the end that will pay for 85% of the cost for one. I want one so bad I can't seem to read on my other devices right now because I want to read on something new instead of what I got. I'm pathetic!
