The commercialization of Halloween, and the pervasiveness of "decorations" in the workplace is what finally pushed me over the edge on this one. I remember the days when it was for little kids and was actually safe. Both of those are no longer true, and I've basically decided to opt out. Plus I really don't need an excuse to have candy in the house.

The pellet stove guy was here yesterday, and we're back to full operation. A big relief. Celebrating with a big pot of Lion Mountain Keemun.

Good morning, everyone! Happy Saturday, Happy November... just plain Happy for happy's sake! I'm drinking Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea this morning, but the tin is getting low. Fortunately, my wife is going back to Japan for a few weeks (niece is having a baby) and she can stock up on all the blends that are showing signs of depletion.

Whilst braving the cold rain/wind gusts to obtain comestibles, I chanced to recheck the local spirituous liquors purveyor - and there on the shelf - Laphroaig! Clutching a bottle to my chest, I sped to the friendly cash till & obtained custody of my favorite tipple! And not a minute too soon. Tonight's weather = rain, gusty winds, freeze warning! My roost will require a warming sip to keep us chooks toasty tonight!
[Of course thermal knit PJ's are a help as well!]

Good morning, everyone! This little light of mine is shining bright and beautiful on a Sunday morning! Already finished two big mugs of Ahmad's "English Breakfast" tea, and waiting for Adobe Premiere to finish interpolating this morning's clips. Progress! Pizza Party this afternoon at the house of our club's Fencing Master. He built an outdoor brick oven, and we'll be making wood fired pizzas, jamming on guitars, planning strategy for our next tournament, and generally enjoying the cooler November weather. The Thais are already wearing ski jackets and wool hats. I added socks to my usual T-shirt and Shorts. Somehow, 30°c (86°F) doesn't feel all that cold...
