Case in point: I side-loaded Mantano a couple of months ago on my Fire HD (and just now side-loaded it to my Fire HD6), but it hasn't been updated since May in the Appstore (which was in GP in Feb). So no ePub3 support. I'm used to some delay relative to GP, but this is getting to be more than annoying. Probably time to nag them again.

The Ouija board icon is back, so maybe it's not a music icon, b/c I haven't opened that.

I made a mistake and let the 8yo munchkin play a game on my Fire 6. Now she wants to play the game again and again, but the only tablet it will play on, naturally, is my Fire 6. Grrr! That uses a lot of battery life, too. And causes the screen to get dirty. Darn game!

2 months til Christmas. Will I survive?

My 5 yo grandson likes to watch Lego train videos on the phone. I saved my husband's old iPhone and let him use this. This way I don't have to give up my phone. LOL Not a solution in your case though.

Found another case for the Fire HD 6 that's similar to the Poetic Revolution. It's the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro. The black one is $5 cheaper than the Poetic and it has Prime shipping. One problem though; it shows the case for the HD 7. Why would they do that?

After mulling over my Kindle options (I have a PW1) and moving my e-ink requirements to Kobo I've today bought a HD 6. No idea if I've done the right thing but I wasn't happy paying the price of a Voyage considering its screen issues.

I have some Kobo books I'd like to side load without emailing them to Amazon, is that possible?

The HD as they are military nonfiction with photos. I've got them currently on the Kobo app but I guess (not checked) that kobo don't have an app in the Amazon App Store.
I've actually no idea what apps are available as this is a bit of an impulsive purchase!

You can either side load the Kobo app using its APK or download a third party app store like 1Mobile Market and then download the Kobo app from there.

Haha. That was my thought, but his mom said no. I bought him a Leap Pad last year. She said that was good enough. Bought the granddaughter the Kindle HD last year too.

Have to obey mom's rules.

Obviously they are not techies.

I have it on my 1st gen HDX 8.9.
