How is the reading experience on the HD 6 compared to e ink kindles or other tablets? I enjoy reading on my PW2 and was really looking forward to getting the voyage until they revealed the price. I just can't afford that. I have a nook hd+ that I use for internet browsing and light reading, but find it a bit too heavy.(it's hard to really get immersed in a book when it's heavy and the brightness doesn't go dim enough.) My husband said that he would get me the voyage for Christmas, but I am starting to wonder if the HD6 would be better. He thinks it is a bit silly to pay $200 for a device that is limited to reading only since tablets do far more. I just don't know what I want to do.

I would say go for the Fire HD6 tab, except that weight is an issue for you. That tab is heavier than an ereader. The overall size is great, but it may feel a bit heavy to you.

I think the Fire 6 is a sensible choice. For $119 you get 16gb (vs the 4gb Voyage), you can read in the kindle app, which looks good, and also add your favorite epub app, and use that with Calibre Companion for organization. No more agonizingly slow collection management.

The screen is backlit, which may bother some people. I think the screen looks great. I can also lower the light as low as I want. There is some glare, but I don't notice it when immersed in a book.

Size - it is great to hold one handed and read. I don't find it too heavy to hold. A case with a built in hand strap would be awesome, though I haven't seen one of those for sale, yet. I think the Poetic GraphGrip will make it easier to hold (but it won't be here for another 3 weeks). It is a little slippery, naked.

Compared to other tablets, I find the Fire 6 absolutely ideal for reading. I've always found the 7" screen too large to enjoy novel reading on, but maybe it's also the weight and aspect ratio (since the 6.8" screen of the Kobo HD is fine with me). So the size of the 6 is perfect, with respect to size and weight.

Especially compared to the Nook HD+ - that thing is a beast, and I do have a case with hand strap. I can't stand reading on it, though it's great for other things. The Fire 6 is a world of difference.

As compared to eink, the text on the Fire 6 is much sharper and darker than the eink readers I have. However, although I can read on the Fire 6 outdoors, I prefer eink for that. And of course, there is a huge difference in battery life. So for long car rides, I would choose eink.

But aside from those two points, the Fire 6 is extraordinary in how well it meets my needs. Other than experiencing a case of gadgetitis, I don't think I'll be buying more eink readers. (Unless all mine break).

So yes, I would advise getting the Fire 6 instead of the Voyage. You have your PW for car rides. You won't have any of the screen frustrations some Voyage buyers have experienced. And of course, if you hate it (which I doubt!!!) you can return it easily.

If so, it may not seem as durable to those who have bought other Poetic cases. Then again, it is a slimline case. One issue I have noticed is that the corner 'bumpers' on the left side of the case slip a bit where the right side corner bumpers do not. The plastic is a single piece from top to bottom on the right side, and the corners don't slip there, but there is big gap with no plastic beyond the corners on the left side, if that makes any sense.
I think the Flinty case is better if someone wants a more traditional tablet case:
http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Release...dp/B00NOSNCVE/
Otherwise the slimline cases make it easier to fit into a shirt or pants pocket.
I had ordered the Poetic Slimline case and when I saw yours I thought the same thing. They look exactly alike. Colors may be a little bit different. I got the light blue in the Poetic and it looks like the Exact may be a bit darker. That could just be the way it shows up online though.

Mine is the same as yours regarding the left side also. I like the slim design. I wanted something that did not add bulk.

Agreed. I traded in my 1st Gen Kindle Fire during Best Buys offer. So glad I did. This screen is beautiful and the size is perfect for carrying in my purse.

Go for the Fire. booklover6 gave a good response to you. I have a Paperwhite that I love and the Fire 6. Like them both. I have the Fire Kindle app set to sepia background and find that comfortable for reading. With my 1st Gen Fire the screen was soooo bright. It was hard to adjust to a comfortable level.

I really love the case, the form factor is great. Though I'm used to the traditional leather-like cases that seriously enfold the tablet.
My wife is giving me a hard time about the green color case and citron tab, saying it looks Metro lol! But it is nice to have the brighter colors for a change.
