Much appreciated Josie.
I've sold my PW1 so now I'm without a reader. My Voyage order is scheduled for the end of November. While I can use my Surface Pro 3 as substitute, I don't think I'll last that long without an e-ink reader. If the postage to Cananda (where I assume they want me to send to) isn't so much I think I'll bite. Voyage, even with ads, is really expensive ![]() |

I'll keep the voyage, if I like it better. I'm intending on going into a Best Buy in Canada to look at the H20 demo and see what I think of it. If I like it enough seeing the demo I'll buy it. Best Buy's are quite easy with returns, yes, even if it's simply because you don't like it. They don't state that electronics have to be defective for a return. However, it's likely that if I really like the demo, I'll only be returning it if I have an actual problem with it.

I love how much more text you get on a page with the H2O. It's about a 1/3 of a page more.

"Thank you for contacting Kobo Customer Care. We are pleased to assist you today. You contacted us today because you are enquiring about the Kobo Aura H2O. We do offer a period of time where you can return your purchase for a refund. This time period is typically 30 days from the date of purchase. Upon receipt of your device, if you find fault with it (or simply don't like it), then we would transfer your account to our returns department and they would have specific instructions for you, such as where to ship the device. For a return you would be responsible for the return postage. To be credited with a refund we most likely would have to receive the device and process it. This would be dependant on the shipping method you choose. If you have any other questions or require further assistance, please contact us." I hope this helps |

I was asking myself the same question a bit ago and decided to go with the H2O after only using Kindle e-readers before. Saw that the H2O was almost the same resolution but a slightly larger screen which was a plus to me, also the ability to read epubs was something I wanted as well as being able to use a SD card was a big deal. (Actually have had to remove books from my Paperwhite due to running out of space so it's nice to be able to stick a big SD card in there and not worry about it again.)
Didn't really care about the waterproof thing, don't plan to read in the shower or anything but I guess it's nice to know that some freak accident won't kill my device. Also it is cheaper. Only real reasons I can see to go for the Voyage instead are if you aren't satisfied with the Kobo's online store (I sideloaded most of my books anyway so it's not a big issue to me) or if you don't consider the pixel density of the H2O to be good enough for some reason and would prefer to cram the same amount of pixels into a bit smaller of a screen. (Which some people might like I guess, I preferred the larger display over the smaller more dense one but it's a subjective thing.) I think the H2O is also a little bit bigger and heavier but haven't really confirmed that, just do know it's a bit thicker than my Paperwhite is. |

Thanks Josie.
I also sideload all my books but that's actually the reason why I'm not so concern with having a Kindle; I just convert all my epubs. I'm not sure yet if I'd prefer the denser Voyage or larger screen H2O. I'd like 6" Aura size to be honest, but I don't think H2O size would bother me either. SD card is a big plus, no question about that. I ran out of space on my PW1 as well. |

Me too. My PW2 is a 3G that it turns out I don't need, he has a PW1, so he is getting my PW2, than I'm having the Voyage, but if that turns out not to be worth the cost then it will go back and I'll get a wifi PW2. The Voyage is £69 dearer than the PW2 plus the insurance is an extra £15 compared to the PW2. I've already ordered, and paid for two third party Voyage cases so hopefully I want or need an official case.
![]() The we will sell his PW1. All planned and worked out ![]() |

I keep seeing this "Capacitive" term--does that mean it's a touch screen? Or something else?

All Kobo's except the 6inch Aura are Infrared Touch The 6 inch Aura and the Kindle Paperwhite are Capactive Touch. The Kindle Touch used an IR screen, This is a link which I found on Google that explain the difference when looking at mobile phones (I assume Infrared is resistive) http://www.knowyourmobile.com/produc...e-vs-resistive Last edited by Josieb1; 10-20-2014 at 10:29 AM. |
