Anyone can comment on return/replacement process?

I'm not so worry about technical support since for that I come here before going to manufacture's site anyway . I've read about the long long replacement process including sometimes they just simply refused. That's a lot different from Amazon 2-day advance shipping replacement process. Also, Kobo website only accept Visa and MasterCard, and my credit card with those are not so generous with buyer protection compared to AMEX or Discover, which make me even more worried.
This is the email I got from Kobo regarding the first 30 days return process.

"You contacted us today because you are enquiring about the Kobo Aura H2O.

We do offer a period of time where you can return your purchase for a refund. This time period is typically 30 days from the date of purchase.

Upon receipt of your device, if you find fault with it (or simply don't like it), then we would transfer your account to our returns department and they would have specific instructions for you, such as where to ship the device.

For a return you would be responsible for the return postage. To be credited with a refund we most likely would have to receive the device and process it. This would be dependant on the shipping method you choose."

For me ordering from Kobo is too much of a risk, of the three faulty H20's I've had two were screen issues, a yellow screen with a darker patch at the top, and a lighter strip running from one of the Led lights. The last one in particular proved impossible to photograph even though I could see it plainly with my naked eye. If you can't convince Kobo you have a fault, by pictures, then you are responsible for the return postage. And in my case it's to another country which makes it very expensive.

Three faulty H20s, you say? Mother of Scrod! Looks like I'll be waiting for more user reports before somersaulting off that plank.

Thank you will you be surprised I actually asked in "John Lewis" in London if they sell h2o (nope, they don't) gadgetitis is incurable I'm afraid. I wonder where you are now that you're not posting, Canada, eh? My finances due to London extravaganza are in a pitiful condition but hey, I have some savings after all. Right now Argos is the only UK Retailer, Kobo confirmed that when I asked.

I was just being hopeful l saw Argos from the bus on the way to St. Pancras but traffic was too big to stop (it took 30 min from Oxford street to the station) l didn't want to be nervous and hurry for the train back home.

Not every store has them so it's best to check online first, but their home delivery service is very good, in some cases you can order in the morning for next day delivery and they don't charge for shipping and deliver by courier.

If you need to return them you just phone up, tell them why and they arrange for collection, again either next day or the day after.

That sounds very convenient, sadly l will not have the opportunity to use it - l live in Brussels. The only seller here is FNAC, which is horrible. They received h2o on October 10, it is still not on display although you can buy it but if you open the box at home you cannot return it. I can order it from the Netherlands for free, 30 days no fuss free returns, next day delivery.

I was in there asking today. They've heard nothing, in fact they thought it wasn't out yet. Customer services are just as bad, the last time I called, a few days ago, I was told they might not be selling it at all.

I think it's past sad now and going into laughable.

There's lots of that available. While one person had 3 faulty devices there's untold numbers of people with zero faulty devices.

On a whimm today checked the Argos store in my nearest shoppng centre, about 35 miles away, and they had a H20 in stock, so I reserved it and went to pick it up.

It's perfect, absolutely gorgeous, no issues with it at all. I've connected it to Calibre and downloaded a few hundred books, add my fonts and the true screen reading hack and everything is running seamlessly.

For anyone on this thread who's interested this is what a perfect H20 looks like. Home screen is on maximum brightness, chapter page is on minimum.

And yes i'm still getting a Voyage as well.

Glad you got a good H2O. I'll be ordering mine once we get back from vacation unless I can get it locally by then. Sorry to hear you have a Voyage on order because now that you have a good H2O, the Voyage will become closet fodder.
