The weight thing just makes me .
It only confuses you because you've never had an issue holding things. For me, the only way I can read a hardcover or trade paperback book is to lay it on something--a table, a lap, or a stand of some sort. My wrists just won't allow me to hold anything that weighs more than a few ounces for any length of time. SO. Maybe please stop dismissing the concerns of those of us that are concerned with the weight of our devices?

Then it still doesn't matter, as you will put the device down as well. With the added advantage that you don't need something to keep the pages open... I think everybody gets tired of holding up something, even something only a few ounces for any length of time...

Actually, I can and do hold my paperwhite for extended periods of time. I can't do that with my iPad or my Kindle Fire, though. The only time I would put my reader down while reading it is when I'm in bed, and then I have a special book pillow that I place it on.

But I have come to realise I'm tired with such limited choice of fonts Amazon offers (and what with this "personal" on my covers anyway). I keep old firmware and backdoor lock on my PW1 so I still have use alt fonts and Charis on it. But why do I have to go through hoops - if I order Voyage it will be the same. I never had an ereader with Carta screen yet either and I was impressed with clarity. I didn't see much though because the H2O was not set up in the shop. But it was lovely.

The first ereader I really LOVED was Opus but now page turns are really slow in comparison and screen is murky (although it too is in excellent condition). I have a big sentiment for it while K3 I never really liked. PW is all right but it never was my prrreciousss I have a feeling H2O will be the ereader to love. I'll be curious if you end up giving in! I'm still a bit torn as I do really want the voyage for the page turn buttons and from the videos I've seen the screen looks lovely. I'm a little leery to take a chance on a Kobo, mainly due to their CS, but I still really want to see one in person. I love that you can customize it. I just wish there was one reader that had everything I want to make the choice easier. Keep me posted on what you decide! I can feeling you giving in! hee hee. I think you need a prrreciousss!

I am sorry, where did anyone say that? Point this out before playing the hurt diva. There's nothing as destructive for a forum than strawmen, so this one needs to be burnt down immediately.

Pointing out the majority of he people won't notice 50 grams is clearly not the same as "nobody notices". Nor does this in anyway mean:Those who notice are insignificant. A significant part of the population is clearly a quantity indication.

One would expect ereading comprehension to be higher in here. But feel free to play the victim

Well I want both devices, only problem is after three faulty H20's I've pretty much given up with Kobo, so my only advice to the OP who originally started this thread is be sure where you buy whatever device you by from and make sure you can get a refund on whatever device you buy easily if it's faulty.

Well, there are two sides to it, and reading the posts in this thread, the "less weight" viewpoint is being dismissed out of hand. I totally get why weight is an issue for some. There are times when I set the ereader in my lap, doesn't really matter then. There I times when I physically hold it, unsupported, and weight DOES matter. And that's the beauty of ereaders, the lighter, the better, because then it can be used by EVERYONE in ANY circumstance.

If weight doesn't matter for some, that's cool, I have no issue with it, and no one else apparently does either. But the thread has been critical of those who DO have an issue with it, and that's a shame. If you can't see both sides, then just be polite about it.

Your feeling is right I would have ordered it yesterday probably but today I spent whole day in London (went by Eurostar train), shopping for clothes. Now I need to estimate the damage to my account but I greatly enjoyed the day

A day shopping in London sounds so lovely, glad you had a good time! I'm starting to break on the Kobo myself now. I have the voyage on order, but I really want to see the Kobo first hand. I'm just worried I might end up loving both and end up with 2! (Yes, I'm that pitiful.) I'm thinking of a little trip to Canada to check it out. I really need meds for my gadgetitis. Every time I watch the video of them changing fonts and margins, I start drooling. lol. I can't wait to hear your thoughts when you get it, which I think is coming soon. That is, if I don't already have one by then! hee hee.

I think I've managed to sell my PW1 so I'm deciding between the two also. Can anyone in the US who have to deal with Kobo customer service recently comment how they are these days?

While the voyage (with ads) is "only" $20 more that H2O, the fact that changing the font will require a hack which may not happen bothers me. H2O bigger screen size may also be nice for me but I'm ok with paying $20 more for the proven CS from Amazon.

Really, I'm torn.

As much as I've had issues with getting a non faulty H20 i do already have a Kobo device, the 6 inch Aura and I really like it. The problem with Kobo is their Customer Service is really bad, everyone knows this and if you buy one you have to accept that Mobileread is for all intents and purposes the customer service. You can't go to Kobo for anything other than basic questions and even then they struggle to answer, I know this from experience.

Some Mobileread members in the USA have ordered from Chapters Indigo rather than Kobo, maybe that's an option for anyone is the US interested in getting a H20? Ask in the Kobo thread for more details.

http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/ereadi...-aura-h20%3aa1

I'm glad I have my Kobo Aura and still really do want a H20, just a bit nervous about ordering another one

So do I.

I asked them a simple question: 'Why can't I get an Analog magazine subscription through you when Analog claims you are one of their e-retailers?', and it took a 4-ply (in chess terms ) mail exchange for them to grasp my question and answer it... 'Georestrictions', of course, although Amazon will sell it to me without qualms.

Thank you Josieb and mbovenka. That sounds kinda scary. I'll refrain from buying from Chapters Indigo for now since I have to pay extra shipping.

Anyone can comment on return/replacement process?

I'm not so worry about technical support since for that I come here before going to manufacture's site anyway . I've read about the long long replacement process including sometimes they just simply refused. That's a lot different from Amazon 2-day advance shipping replacement process. Also, Kobo website only accept Visa and MasterCard, and my credit card with those are not so generous with buyer protection compared to AMEX or Discover, which make me even more worried.
