Neither of my last two trips to the doctor's office have resulted in me getting a flu shot. The first time they were out of it, and when I got the preliminary blood work done for this week's physical I was told that I would have to get it when I came in for the physical to get a flu shot.

If you stayed still you were fine, if you flinched the nature of the gun would rip 2-4 inch jagged lines on your arm, you'd have to go to the back of the line and have everything readministered by standard hypodermic needles, and that was anywhere between 7 and 15 shots) wa wa wa! Those air guns were something else. I don't think I ever flinched, but I saw others who did. It was a major incentive to keep my cool.

On some TV show my son, his girlfriend, and my grandson are watching a bunch of dogs just started barking. Norton flew off the bed and ran to the back door. I held him up to the TV to show him the dogs were part of a show, but he still ran right back to the door when I let him down. He doesn't understand TV.

When we had Shadow and the kids were younger they would watch some television sit-coms in the afternoon. Shadow was a German shepherd, about three years old when we got him from the shelter, and we never knew much about him (other than the fact that he'd apparently been neglected and then turned out on the street).

But I was able to figure out that he grew up in a house with a doorbell. Whenever a doorbell rang on a TV show he'd race downstairs and start barking at our door.

He never did learn that we don't actually have a doorbell.

That's why I said yes at the drug store - CVS has it very organized - took me just a couple of minutes to fill out the consent form - plus they send a notification to my doctor's office - sort of a professional "neener- neener". And CVS gives you a coupon for 20% off anything in the store that's good for several months.

Some of our most interesting places were found because I zigged when I I should have zagged.

It's sort of scary to think that I can take a topo map and a compass, and find my way through back-country wilderness with no trouble at all. But put me on a highway, s̶h̶o̶w̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶i̶g̶n̶,̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶.̶.̶.̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶l̶i̶m̶i̶t̶.̶.̶.̶ and I'll get lost most of the time. I'm such a over indulgent dog mom! I subscribe to dog tv for Aragorn (the kitties watch it too! ) different things hey his attention, sometimes he'll sit with his nose practically on the tv. Other times he'll keep running around to the back looking for the barking doggies!

Pick me! Pick me! If this hostel project gets off the ground we'll be fully operational by then. We will be accessible by ferry from Seattle, by car as well if driving around is preferred. We'll have kayaks, bikes and camping gear available for rent. We'll have one big dorm type room, a few family rooms, and a variety of smaller group rooms. I'm betting I could talk the proprietor into some kind of a deal. We'll have a be kind to Bilbo week or something similar.

We went to the Doctors office but that is because I have the Little Man with me and I am not really sure if he can get that shot at the Pharmacy. I would prefer the pharmacy, the commute doesn't suck.

Thanks kk. I don't think we're hostel people really though (Mrs B certainly isn't). I'll be finalising the arrangements today, but it looks like we'll be stopping at a place called the Fairmont in Seattle. My brother and his family will be coming down from Vancouver to join us and then we will travel back to their place there together.

We love traveling and I'm looking forward to seeing parts of America I've never been to before.

Well maybe you could hop on the foot ferry and come over for an afternoon. Get a taste of small town America!

I had an appointment with the dentist and dental hygienist today. The dentist found a "mini mini micro cavity", after going backwards and forwards for a bit he did decide it needed to be taken care of. So for Monday I have another appointment of only 10 minutes to get it fixed (hopefully with anaesthetics). The dental hygienist was very happy. My gums were nice and not inflamed, though that wasn't the case anymore when she was done .

Back home again, and sorting out our gear. Some to put in the washing machine, some to wash with stronger cleaner, some to just put away. Batteries to charge, helmet communicators to charge... locks to lubricate.... Two people on one motorcycle for four days... Surprisingly little to deal with. We were lucky in that we had good weather for the entire ride, although not the real blue-blue skies I was hoping for.
