Now I can't decide what to do for my girls....I guess I should have kept the 2013 Fire HD for them. I am not sharing my Fire 6. So do I get them one, or will it be too small? Do I get them the 2012 Fire HD, which I can get in 32gb, and is a good price ($149 refurbished)? I have one of those in 16GB but it's not running Fire OS, I could roll it back and give that to them....decisions, decisions. I'm leaning toward getting them a Fire 6, if it goes on sale....basically for those pesky Kindle Fire edition games that won't run on their rooted Nooks. Though they might not run on the Fire 6, either. I could try looking for them on my device and see if they will d/l.

Oh I totally forgot about the rear facing camera. So I will definitely get them a 2014 Fire. And they said the 6" is not too small for them. Now if I can talk them into yellow! The older daughter likes the white (she has a white Nook).

I decided today that I'm not buying a case. I never use one and when I travel, I have plenty of neoprene pouches I can use. I was going to get one in case someone borrowed my Fire HD 6 and wanted the cover on it, but tough... they can use it bare.

It would be a shame to get the color and then just cover it up.

I've got a lot to learn about using the Fire, so I may ask some stupid questions!

Update: Saved money by not buying a case, spent money on this instead.

Re the B&N trade-in, is it a guaranteed $50 for a working tablet? When I went to the website and did the check trade-in value, I was getting prices ranging from 0 to $13. That's certainly not $50. What gives?

My brother has a 1st gen Fire that's still in excellent condition, but getting long in the tooth hardware/software-wise. So I was thinking about trading it in for an HD6, provided I get $50 for it.

If it says Minimum then you will get $50 as the gift card value can go in no lower as that is the Minimum amount. Really good deal if you ask me.

My Moshi iVisor screen protector for the Fire 6 came, and I am stunned! It was so worth the money! It went on flawlessly! It's not an "anti-glare" one, but it does minimize the mirror effect somewhat, at least while a book is open. So I am happy!
