Me, too. I have long been seeking the perfect tablet for reading. So far, I have not been happy with any of them for various reasons. I just sold my Nook HD, which I had gotten expressly for reading. It wasn't bad, though it was slow compared to newer tablets. I just find 7" and larger tablets too large and heavy for my taste (for reading books). Fingers crossed that this Fire 6 will satisfy me. It sounds like it will be very fast! I do wish it had a 4:3 screen ration rather than a 16:10. But that is something I'll probably never get.

If the Fire 6 proves to be wildly successful, perhaps some other quality device manufacturers will come out with their own models. I'd love one a bit more customizable. But since I just plan to use the Fire 6 for reading, it doesn't really matter that much.

it is very light and easy for to hold for reading, I am holding off my 100% endorsement since I am waiting for my cover but so far I am content with it. It is looking promising that this will be my at home reader.

No I don't but I have the brightness turned down. Oh and now that my indexing and such is all done, the battery usage is pretty good. I listened to an audiobook with bluetooth for 3 hours last night and it only went from 100 to 77%. It is not great but it is better than the battery usage on my 2012 Fire.

Today's tasks are to add all my apps I had on the previous Fire.

Yep, I am waiting on mine along with my cover. And yes the finger smudges are working my nerves. I saw that Galaxy and almost waivered, I was thinking wow the hubby would like that...no impulse control, that is me.

The Fire HD 6 is so close to the Kindle Paperwhite 2 size. I'm wondering if some of the Paperwhite 2 cases would work. Especially the kind with the elastic corners to hold the reader/tablet in.

This one appeals to me. However it is not marketed as "anti-glare." So I am not sure if it would do the trick. I am not concerned about scratches, since it has gorilla glass.

I do not have one of the cases with elastic corners but right now mine is in one of my old K4 cases that have them. It fits well enough to hold it but the elastic sits over the power button on one side and the headphone jack on the other. Though I am content with this until my cover arrives.

That is the one I ordered, I had the same one for my previous Fire and I loved it. So much so, when I was preparing my Fire for shipping for the trade-in and I took it off and my cover, my Fire looked brand new.
