Yes, and that one's now history as well.

We have one who's even trickier than that. They'll copy posts from similar sites, add their hidden one-pixel tracking graphic, and post them at MobileRead in a forum where they're on-topic. If someone didn't know to look behind the words on the screen, they'd never know they were looking at spam.

To go back on topic, I think something is up. Today I see Kindle prices, including the PW, have dropped by around $20 at The Source (thesource.ca if anyone's interested). Indication of new models soon to come, perhaps?

My guess is they are so eager for a new PW3 because, even though they don't want to admit it, the first two PWs were not that good. The screens are lackluster, at best. And as others have mentioned, Kindles have been stuck at 6" only models for quite a while (DX was never updated beyond the G model) and the current very lackluster resolution has been around a few years. And no eInk has ever been faster than a snail crossing a four lane highway. I still say that outside of this forum very few people prefer Kindles to tablets any more.

I AM PROUD TO ADMIT THAT MY PW2 IS THE BEST EREADER I HAVE EVER OWNED! Please make no assumptions on my behalf.

And I believe that this forum is a pretty good cross-section of people with electronic devices and the fact that most prefer Kindles is a valid general statement.

You have been anti-PW since it was first released - we get it - you don't like the device. And there is no doubt that as soon as the PW3 is released, you will be here trashing it no matter what.

Both Nook and Kobo have announced their new offerings this year. It seems that it is only natural that Amazon will do so too in due course.

I have owned both Kobo Aura and PW2 at the same time and much prefer the PW2. I have sold my Kobo Aura.

I hope the PW3 will be significantly better than PW2. Bring it on (soon), Amazon!

I also have the PW2 and the Aura, and while I like my Aura if I could only have one ereader it would have to be a PW2, for the infrastructure as much as the device.

I have to agree. I also have an Aura and a PW1 and a PW2 and both the Paperwhites are better readers than the Aura. The screens are better. The interface is better and more intuitive.

That's not to say there's anything wrong with the Kobo Aura. It's a fine ereader. Just not as good as the Paperwhites.

The interface is very much a matter of opinion. I greatly prefer the Kobo interface.

The screen of the Aura, when compared side by side, is not as good. The contrast is not as sharp. That is due to the extra layer on the Aura, which is there because of how it is made, "edge to edge" with no bezel. As long as I am not holding it for comparison, I enjoy reading on the Aura. I'd like an Aura with the Carta screen.

I'd like a PW3 Carta the size of the Aura, also.

Other than water-proofing, I fail to see what innovation Amazon can add to the PW2 at this time (other than improving font & formatting options to match the Kobo, which Amazon has shown themselves to be uninterested in).

Really what can they add right now? Dunking it in the bath? I guess...
