Calibre 2 interface (want old one back!)

I always upgrade to the latest version every Friday...compulsive this way. But when I installed 2.0, was surprised to see these relative wide lines separating the list of my books, which is rather annoying as I have a pretty large library and miss the older, more compact interface. Call me a creature of habit, but the older versions were perfect. I tried every option in preferences to change it back, but no luck.l Can anyone assist me in getting the previous listing interface back, short of reverting to an older version. Thanks! PS: I'm running Windows 7 pro, sp1, 64-bit and have not made any changes to personalizations or anything else prior to installing Calibre 2.0 Last edited by markpearl; 08-24-2014 at 12:18 PM. Preferences -> Change calibre behavior -> Look and Feel Change the setting for the line spacing, at the bottom of the dialog. You can set negative values to make the lines smaller than the default. |

I went back to Preferences for the umpteenth time and did not find Anything that specifically indicated "Change Calibre Behavior". Only, "Behavior" that had "preferred input format order" and a few other settings that didn't relate to line spacing values. "Look and Feel" also drew blanks for my dilemma as well as other possible settings. EDIT: Aha! I found it!! Odd, because the default was set to "0 px" in 2.0, which should have corresponded to the "None px" in an older version I have on my laptop. Dialing it back to -7 px did the trick, and I have my "old" interface back. Thank you! I'm sure I missed this, but could you or anyone else walk me through again? In the Preferences dialog's top level there is an option Look & Feel. That one contains the option to lower the line spacing. On the top of my head, it's the last or next to last option that also says "can be negative."

What you are looking for is on Preferences / Look and Feel / Main Interface tab. See the screen shot.

Yep, see above. After some ADD fumbling, I found it. What threw me was that, as I mentioned, the older versions had "none" as the default while this one was "0 px" -- I assumed it was the same. Cheers! |

I wasn't about to complain but I sure thank you for the line height answer.
