9. Paula Radcliffe is a British runner, (current women's world record holder in the marathon) somewhat notorious for having to stop for a toilet break during the London Marathon, which she then went on to win. No idea how this might tie into the others.

Yes, she is! She holds the world's record for being the oldest person alive today. (As you say, 'verifiable.' Some that that there are residents in Hunza that are older.)

Thinking back on it, wasn't she one of a pair of twins? Both of whom lived to ripe old ages.

You are probably thinking of Kin-san and Gin-san. One passed away and the other followed a few weeks later. This is close to ten years ago I believe.

Well, since I notice a pattern here my guess is that Kanda Asako has the largest collection of smartphone jewellry. Japanese women love that stuff and someone has to have more than anyone else.
