Read a SciFi book years ago (can't remember the title) about an organism living in the sewers, which when it touched you (crept out of the toilet whilst you were sitting!) turned you to water and absorbed your basic elements leaving just a puddle.
Made me look in the pan before I sat for ages afterwards

(There's a challenge anybody remember the title?)
