Ice Wine the new Kindle Paperwhite

Someone has visited Lab126 and seen the new Paperwhite, it is "very thin" and has 300 PPI resolution.

Is this the same tired old unsubstantiated rumor that TechCrunch reported way back in November? Nate the Great doesn't seem to believe it... |

Hmm, but the article says nothing about the PPI. (Thanks for the link, by the way. ) It just says it should be thinner. It is the old TechCrunch article that spoke about PPI. So -- same old story, no new evidence. No evidence at all, in fact. (Yes, I am determined to be cynical about this.) Why would someone want thinner. It just cramps your hand to hold and doesn't fit in your pocket any better?

Perhaps so the Kindle+case is as thick/weighs just as much as the current Kindle-minus-case. To get the weight down at all costs -- I know there is a MR group that wants their Kindle to float in the air in front of their eyes (as of the last time weight was brought up, anyway). Every bit helps. |

Thinner could be bad if it is more fragile. Could be good if it feels better in the hand or in the pocket. Helen |

Hmmm, so how do you project an eink screen in the air? and will folks demand physical "air" page turn buttons? | |

I was thinking of "Kindle Air". And yes, they will want air turn buttons, because whyever not? |

But "KindleBook Air" would be pushing it, of course. (Even though it actually happens to be a book...) |
