Kindle for PC via WINE
This has been discussed piecemeal in the generic K4PC threads, but lifehacker's Run Kindle for PC in Linux with WINE is a nice summary of what to do. The basic trick is to configure it for Windows 98.

Excellent, that means I can use it on my Debian box. I mainly use OS X for work so have a VM going with Win XP which runs Kindle software fine.

![]() ![]() ![]() The win98 trick fixes the menus for Crossover on Mac as well. I have a version running in a Fusion VM as well, but Crossover beats having to boot the VM. I hope the real Mac version is out before my 30-day trial of Crossover is, well, over. |
