Speciall Offers removed without charging and legally
I contact amazon customer service by chat because I couldn't find the button to remove Special Offers on content & devices area of their website and after asking me some personal information and to turn wifi on they removed it without charging me a penny.
I don't know the reason but I'm happy.

Just checked my e-mail and amazon informed me that they removed so because I am located outside US.

You are the second person I have heard that this has happened to. With my luck I would get charged. They are not as annoying as I thought they would be.

This was my experience as well, Amazon removed the special offers without any fuss because I live outside the US. I just had to confirm the mailing address on my account.

I have paid several times to have them removed, but not doing so on my current device. It's not my primary reader, so I don't care.
