Who can comprehend Sony's strategy? It seems the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

SONY frequently has been like this. They produce some masterful products, but are let down by the marketing/distribution. It's been happening for so many years at times I think they honestly don't really mind.

Most tablets out there, the good ones, go for well over $200. VisTablet's vTen pad is cheaper than most, and you get more for your money. Compared to most other offname brands out there, VisTablet does an excellent job with their products, making them durable enough for travel.

My purchase finally went through. You can get the device through the other re-seller, Ease Entertainment Services.

http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-dig...aper:resellers Worldox never got back to me. Ease replied within a business day to assist with the transaction. Not much questions, just shipping address and my phone number. The person who assisted me was a pleasure to communicate with as well. My final receipt was $1,216.13 including regular shipping (to CA) plus taxes. I think Worldox may be screening sales more heavily to upsell their FileCloud service at $150 a year. I wasn't forced or coerced to subscribe to any service with this other company. I'm very glad I decided to try my luck with them. EDIT: I was just informed that they have about 20 units left in stock. Last edited by kaiser s; 05-15-2014 at 08:06 PM. |

Well I didn't read it that way or I wouldn't have responded as I did but I'm not going to argue the point.

Found the DPT-S1 user manual online

Has anyone obtained the U.S. version of this e-reader (i.e. DPT-S1)? I found the user manual online:

http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/assetDownlo...nsion=original ...and on page 47, it indicates that the device has a web browser built in. My eyes get sore within 10 minutes of using a typical flatscreen monitor and am wondering if anyone has surfed the web using the DPT-S1? If so, what are your thoughts about the robustness of the browsing experience ... and is it easier on the eyes to browse for a sustained "long" period of time? I have been looking for an e-ink monitor and would appreciate hearing if this device allows a seemless web experience as if surfing on a (slow-to-refresh) 13.3" monitor. |
