Does anyone here use smile.amazon.com? I've gotten emails saying if you don't start off at smile.amazon.com, the items you (later) buy there don't get the credit to your charity.

All I can think of is that I click some of these free books (www.amazon.com) links here, so it's somehow planted a cookie, then any purchases I make at "smile" aren't doing what it's designed to do.

The best way to do that is clear your cookies and cache before buying something from Amazon other than books.

Yes I use Smile. I have it bookmarked and only shop there no matter what I am buying. For any links here I copy and paste them into notepad and take out the B00 number and put that in the search bar to bring up the book. But that is me, takes a little longer but makes sure that I never leave smile.

Oh and the newsletters I get from Amazon always has the smile url.

To get credit for your charity,you must be on smile.amazon. Every item is not smile eligible but if it is, amazon notes this in the description. I don't think i have ever seen an ebook that was eligible. If anybody needs a charity, the Musella Brain Tumor foundation can always use your donations. claudia

Legend of the Highland Dragon (Highland Dragons #1) by Isabel Cooper is $1.99 at Amazon and B&N. I enjoyed it and marked it for a future reread. Of course I have a thing for dragons so I may be biased

All purchases made via the cart at Smile.amazon.com count, no matter where you start.

Affiliates, though, if you read or follow them, won't get credit if you switch to smile.amazon.com before putting the item in the cart (or for anything put into the cart once you move to smile).

No cookies for the regular site affect the smile site at all (the opposite, actually, as moving to smile changes the domain and drops any affiliate cookie that has been set).

Clearing cookies is appreciated by any affiliate, if you are buying free books, as more than one has had their entire income seized by Amazon due to "too many" free book sales in a month. It's the main reason so few mention them anymore, which in turn has led the publishers to almost stop offering them.

Otherwise, though, all clearing cookies does is take time (and make you log into your sites again) and drop any affiliate site you might have been on from getting any income from your purchases. Whether or not you wish to do that, is a personal decision.

I didn't buy any books this week!

I read:

The Cad by Edith Layton (3 stars) This is a book on Scribd. I really enjoyed it till the end where I felt it fell flat.

I am reading: The Choice by Edith Layton

I don't know there is something about her books that make me want to read them straight through. I wouldn't call her a strong writer but she has a style that is easy to read and flows though sometimes I get confused who is talking to who like in the last book it happened more than once.

OT: I injured my left knee. I had sinus issues this last week which make me a little more clumsy than I am already. I turned to go up the stairs and instead of my knee hitting air it hit the the entrance wall. Ouch! It's a little bruised and swollen. This is the same knee I injured last December. Hubby has gotten rid of all the living room seating but my couch and desk chair. He then stole my couch which means I am stuck in my bedroom with nothing to do but read or use my tablet while I ice my knee. I should be packing but without health insurance I have to take care of my knee first.
