Does the charger have to run with 500 mA?

			Hello!

Technical terms for a non-native speaker, non-electric person ... well, I hope I make myself understandable. ![]() The Cybook runs wih 500 mA. I'm looking for a charger to recharge the battery without connecting to my PC. Now, I've got a charger for my iPod which runs at 1000 mA. Since it has the same USB-connector I'd like to use it also for my Cybook. Question: will this cause any harm? Like overloading the Cybook or simply blowing the fuse, so to speak. Any experiences which charger is best suited? Thanks in advance, Thomas |

I charge my cybook for a USB mains charger that came with my iphone.

I was told that if was USB then the voltage would be fine to use to charge the cybook - and it is... The current rating does not matter provided the charger can provide the charge current needed, at least, for the cybook. as 1000 is bigger than 500 yours would be fine. |

Your iPod charger will work fine. The current is the maximum that the charger can supply; it's the device which "decides" how much current to actually draw.
