Yeah ...
I'll definitely will bring the cord and charger I think is a better idea. Now I am debating myself in bringing my MacAir and Kindle PW or ... iPad air only. Hmm... decisions, decisions. ![]() Cellphone will go with me for sure ![]() |

(The Kindle goes along with me either way--WAY better battery life, even on the PW2, & easier for me to read on without getting distracted.) So I guess the question is, what can you do on the MBA that you can't do with the iPad, and do you really need that particular capability on this trip? |

Note that an AC charger may be useless outside the US, without some converter/adaptor. Depends where you are going. It won't work in New Zealand, for example.

I run a 4 port A/C charger instead of a power strip (Rosewill). It can charge 4 devices at once.
(But I always carry my "go bag" for trips. Prepacked with an e-book reader, netbook computer, Sansa Clip+ music player, noise-canceling headphones, video camera (SONY Bloggie), external SD chip reader, a little zipper bag of micro SD chips, and chargers for computer, cell phone, and USB charger (everything else charges off of the USB). Heavy, but convenient. Just grab and go....) |

I don't leave the house without a charger and 2 cords either. I spend way too much time waiting in the ER (average wait is 8 hours). Fortunately, I can easily connect to wifi in the hospital, so bro can listen to streamed music on my Nook HD while I read my Kindle.

Found my kindle touch does not charge with my apple plug, maybe the voltage is different in the UAE. Bought 3 different USB leads and 2 different plugs for my various gadgets am here for a few weeks.

Do you bring a charger with you when traveling?

Weird, did you try via laptop ? Using the USB port. The only issue that I'm having here and would like to share anyway, is that Tmobile data (with the new universal plan) seems to work on some cities and not others. In Bogota, the capital and biggest city, I wasn't able to get the free data via cellphone, using my iPhone. Text messages work fine though, with my wife which is in USA, but I haven't tried with non Tmobile customers as I'm not sure if those are free or not. And for those who believe 4G is slow :-) ... just wait to travel and find 2G or 3G , it's slow as hell, lol ... even when downloading newspapers on your Kindle. Gosh, we're so spoiled and lucky in Europe and USA. Last edited by jocampo; 12-26-2013 at 02:17 PM. |

I was on the Seabus today and my mini spontaneously discharged, which it has never done before. It is only a 15 minute ride, followed by a twenty minute one, but I was sitting next to a power outlet and wishing I had my charger.

If I'm going to be traveling for more than a few days I bring an AC adapter and an usb cable to plug into it. Otherwise, nope.

I am thrilled that we are going to be flying on a plane where every seat has an electrical outlet. LM can play on an iPad and we don't have to worry about batteries running out.
