Firmware 2.8.1 ? - Page 33

Is there any way to know how many ebooks I have on my reader now? I only see how many pages or shelves or whatever of books I have now. It's kind of annoying!

open booklist, multiply number of books per page with number of pages. simple mathematics

I suppose that would work, but it was easier when it just said how many there were. Hmm I have 410 books on there. Thanks.

If you open the Library under "Books" mode, above the list you will see on hte left the ordering type (e.g. by Title, Author, etc), and on the right how many you have (e.g. for the first page of the list on my Mini I see 1-5 of 117 items). So the X in "of X items" will tell you how many books you have (including anything you may have put there which is not a book, e.g. the .png files you are using if you have hacked your device - if you haven't, then I guess the number of items will be the same as the number of books).

Hi everyone! Hope you're all happy and well

Am I missing an 2.8.1 bug thread? I searched but couldn't find, and I'm experiencing a couple of bugs I haven't seen mentioned in this thread.

When I switch on, and go anywhere from the home screen, after about 5 seconds books doggy-ear themselves and go back to the home screen, and settings menus exit and go back to the home screen... everywhere I try to go, it only works the second time I go there.
When syncing from the tile on the home screen, my Glo always freezes at "loading content", even if there is no content to load. I need a pin reset to get out of it. Syncing from the menu does work normally. Although I must say I haven't properly tested so I don't know if it's just the second time I try to sync that it works, or that it is location-dependent.
Reading a book, then sleeping the Glo, then waking the Glo up: the Glo wakes up to the home screen, and not to the book I was reading. I have to re-open the book (then get thrown out of it, see (1.), then reopen) to continue reading.

Anyone seen such behaviour? Or are these Mrs.O's-Glo's-specific-troubles for some reason?

I'm not seeing those, Mrs_Often (though I don't sync often at all, so that's a soft "no" on that one). Sorry. Maybe time for a logout/log-back-in, and failing that, a factory reset?

I see I forgot to mention something in point 1:
Even going to the home screen (from switching on or from anywhere else), the home screen refreshes as if going to the home screen again...

Well, I didn't wait a tiny bit and signed out right away... Ehm, but not back in? It asked me if I was sure I wanted to sign out, I said yes, it said "please wait, signing out", then it restarted, and when it started up, there was my normal home screen perfectly normally logged in as me? Is this a new feature? What happens when I want to sign in as someone else? [I suppose I factory reset...]

Anyway, it SEEMS to have solved most of the nonsense. I haven't tested everything but at least it now wakes up back to the book and the book doesn't quit after 5 seconds... weirdness. Thanks again meeera, I had forgotten about the signing out trick

Serves me right for staying away so long

Welcome back!!! Once or twice I have experienced something close to your second point but I can't remember if it's with the current firmware or the previous one. It was around the release of 2.8.1 so I thought it was related to busy servers. To stop it, I had to turn the Aura HD off, no reset needed.

Double flash refresh seems to be "normal" on some screens these days, so that's likely what's going on here.
