Question marks in the middle of words?

I have some ebooks in .mobi format and in the book content there is words that have question marks in the middle of the words like this:

qual?ity
intel?ligence
com?ing
pro?gram

I don't know why is this, but is it possible to be fix it with calibre?

Likely the result of 1) text encoding or 2) hyphenation. Can be 'corrected' during conversion;
In the search box ([a-z])\?([a-z])
In the replace box \1\2

I did not test this so you should ensure it does what you want. Ensure the .original_mobi is saved allowing a return to the unmolested version.
