I have some sterling silver chopsticks that someone gave me years and years ago. They're pretty, but way too slippery! I use waribashi, but managed to get some of the better grade ones and recycle them through the dishwasher. They eventually give out, but it takes a while.
Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend. But the cup is empty. Must go make some more tea... |

I'll have to try that. The hot water bottle or rice sock requires far too much prep time and coordination.

A rice sock really shouldn't require time coordination. If you fill a sock with rice & tie off the top, you can re-use it again and again and again. (In case making them was the part the took time.) I use a pair of socks filled with rice in the winter - 60-90 seconds in the microwave per sock. I only change out the rice once a year. [Then I keep the used rice in a tin, for use as an abrasive while washing out drinking bottles.]
If warming the rice sock is too much effort, that's another issue! P.S. I would do 30 seconds for a baby. 60-90 seconds is for a person old enough to know when it is too hot. Anyway -- give Noah a squeeze from us! |

It is warming the rice sock that is time consuming. When holding a sleeping baby, it is a pain in the wazo. Using it just for the weight makes sense.
Babies who sleep on their stomachs are more likely to die from SIDs then babies who sleep on their backs. I have no problem with him sleeping on my chest, I can watch him and make sure he is safe. |

I suggest you do not use props, if you can, and try to teach him to go to sleep on his own.
