Always, there are the same questions of authoritarian ownership, best books, worst books, and other typically mundane things. Is there no one here to speak of real meaningful ideas of what authorship should or could be? Or maybe a more in depth look on what literary works have or possibly could shape the future? I am desperately woeful on what the great readers of my time ("you") can come up with. We keep regurgitating the same idealistic views, with no real insight, of the same topics that have beleaguered literary types for the length of time as recognizable to us. I have not posted much merely because it is irrelevant to what has already been spoken, even in this style. you can hate me for stating the truth, but so be it. I, personally, hoped for more from this group. You all, for the most part, are well read and know your own-selves. Yet nothing seems to be new, no new conversations, nor any new thoughts. I'm disillusioned and distracted by the thought of the readers ("us") into a spiraling downward spiral of mundane thoughts. Maybe a personal enlightenment could help me, or us all....
If the closed sign is up on your mind how are new ideas going to get in?

Tom Robins wrote a whole book on the idea of, 'if you want to change the world change your mind.'

Meaning only means something to those that care about mean and I'm hearing a lot pf not caring about what other consider to meaningful coming from you, Requim. Maybe you should question why you don't find anything here meaningful to you? Maybe your finding meaninglessness in things you want to have meaning is a reflection of the thing giving gravity to that malstorm turning everything mundane... here is a pamphlet to our EFAP provider.

Have fun, Jan

I don't think you read the whole thread, I wasn't talking about meaning in topics, I was talking about how it is frustrating to see the same things over and over. That doesn't take away the meaning of something to someone. You are just going off on your own belief without understanding what someone has already said. You have misled yourself into something so you can get on a soapbox. Apparently you just read this Tom Robbins book and it affected you in some way. That's cool and all, but it doesn't apply to what I am saying.

So let me get this straight ... you're nit-picky enough to believe that no space between "ninny" and "muggins" constitutes an error, but you're totally cool with pretending the word cotton has an 'e' in it?

I'm a cotton-headed ninnymuggins ... you can be whatever you want.

This thread didn't seem promising at first since we newbies will forever want to discuss topics that were done to death before our arrival. Humor can make the most unlikely threads entertaining.

I really must question the existence of said creature. The very idea of leftover noodle pudding is preposterous. That you also want me to believe it lingered so long as to take on another form, this noodle monster, makes me wonder if you all really do live in a parallel universe. And it would certainly explain a lot of other things, too.

Hmm, that's more focused than usual.
We average closer to 5 per thread, no?

At least the are no signs of it getting Godwin'ed, yet.
