Option 1: If you're getting confused by the options on HP's website, try using the filters on the left hand side. (Examples: price, screen size, etc.). You can quickly get the list down to one or two computers. Option 2: Apple isn't all that much better. They offer 10 laptops. Quite often the distinguishing features are just as confusing and are mostly intended to convince the consumer to buy up. (Example: very few consumers will notice the difference between a 2.3 and 2.6 GHz processor.) Either way, HP offers a much broader range of options because their customers have a much broader range of needs. On the other hand, Apple abuses the devout nature of it's customers to cut down on the options and keep prices high. |

Then have much much less choice. |

I like it; the fewer choices a business offers, the more they are looking out for us by enabling us to have more choices. I'm dizzy. |

It's a business decision, not a public service. HP decided that the best way to maintain market share, and presumably profitability, was to serve every market that they can. In a way, they have to because it is an incredibly competitive marketplace for them.
Personally, I can deal with any given vendor offering less choice because there are other vendors to choose from. If you want a big name, there's companies like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Toshiba. I am not stuck with a single supplier. The same goes for Windows 8 tablets. |
