Well the last few books I have read had a cover price of 40-50 dollars. Some of the books I have read recently have had a cover price of a hundred or two american...

Yes I currently have access, due to interlibrary loan of just about any book I could ever want. Unfortunately many of those do not exist in a font size that I am comfortable reading in, would it be morally ok for me to download a copy of the book from the internet and just imagine myself accessing it through my local library? Or should I first take the time/money to borrow the book from the library and non-destructively scan it into a digital format so that I can alter the font size and actually read it??

Trust me when I say that your local Safeway will allow you to sample as many baked goods as you desire. It might not be an advertised feature of your supermarket, in fact we will laugh at you for being such a pain in the ass, but we will allow you to eat before purchasing.

No they won't. Give me an address of one who does. Even without the raw meat samples you told me they were happy to supply.

Odd that they would laugh at you if as you said earlier that a satisfied customer is important but I believe that you were making this up so not so odd. Anyway my local safeway has no such free sample policy.

Just ask to try something, I've personally opened many a package of various items for customers to sample from. We laugh at you because we find your sense of entitlement funny. That does not mean that you are not entitled however.

And the Safeways in Vancouver area do not to my knowledge give free samples of anything. many supermarkets do, but never in several thousand vists have I seen this at any Safeway.

If the Safeway actually produced a decent baked good I would advise you to go down there and actually ask to try something. But seeing as they do not, I do not advise such an action. I assume you have not actually asked yourself, you have just imagined yourself asking to try.

Yesterday I was thinking about what an idea is. It seems to me that ideas are everywhere. There is an idea contained within the words printed onto the paper, and there is an idea contained within the way the words are printed onto the paper.

Why is the idea contained within the words copyrighted, but the method of printing the words not?

Mostly this stems from a book I read recently about copying in various industries. The restaurant business for instance, rampant copying of ideas. We might think it is absurd to imagine copyrighing the expression of ingredients into a highly edible dish, but the chef did take a lot of time and effort to create. Why should another chef in another restaurant be able to copy the work and sell it??

Or are texts unique?

It really would help if you had your facts straight when you go on one of these flights of fancy.

IDEAS are not copyrighted. The specific text a writer uses to express the ideas is copyrighted.
