I dislike abbreviations, I can never remember what anything stands for. I'd prefer it if people would write things all the way out.

I never heard anyone specifically mention the Kobo Touch before this thread...I've only heard people refer to it as a Kobo. I have heard "everyone", however, refer to the Kindle Touch as the KT, and the newest Kindle as the K4.

So, Sony made the first touchscreen ereader (I think) so no one can use a "T" except Sony. On the other hand, The first Kindle came out in 11/2007 and the first KOBO in May, 2010, so I guess that means that Kindle owns the K abbreviation.

I think this means we will have to stop abbreviating once we run out of 26 models/features. Maybe we should switch to using chinese characters for abbreviations. Since there are tens of thousands of those, each reader can have a unique, one character abbreviation.

Since a Japanese firm owns Kobo now, perhaps we could get around that by using the appropriate Kanji symbol to represent Kobo instead of a 'K'
