Okay, I may as well join in. "Welcome to MobileRead. I sleep nekkid, too, but my slippers are lavender and they have little puppy dogs on them. Be sure to check our ebook library and feel free to ask questions."
wait, how do you usually greet your visitors ??

Ha .... no, actually that episode was from long before I had cats. Back in the days when I was catless and bored (except for the occasional cockroach floor show .... or a celebrity dying in the ER ... neither of which was a "nice" thing to experience).

Oh, I know about that kitty litter problem. Millet hulls are nearly as bad, and stick to everything.

If I start discussing what I wear to bed, I'll end up in a rant about having kids and no privacy, and this is the wrong thread for that.

Privacy is a figment of your imagination when you have kids.

The largest novel ever published? I'm tempted just because that sort of thing fascinates me.

Maybe the longest English novel.
(Other contenders could be The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatori) from Japan; and one could condider the Proust oeuvre as one novel, released in a series.)

Yeah, that's why I wanted Proust all in one big book - to try to stress and break things. But now that I have Clarissa, I will be perfectly happy with Proust in 3 volumes like God intended.

FWIW - my reader will handle the Clarissa all in one huge book, but it seems to work better and faster with the smaller Part1 and Part2.

in re: "stress testing" - see my next post herewith I am just about to do - - -

This forum has the most industrious members and the highest quality content of any forum I have been a member of before. You guys are just awesome in your production of eBooks. Especially Patricia (whoever she/he REALLY is, whatever she/he REALLY does) - you can always count on those books to be top notch - and the total quantity is mind boggling.

But I have been trying to push the envelope in all sorts of ways. This, in turn, spawns "secret projects". Some are useful, some turn out not so much.

My most recent completion is a big book of International Law. It is the first time - to my knowledge - that this compendium has been put together (in either paper or electric form) in one volume with common book design, layout, structure, and format.

The experiment was to see if I could get a decent LRF file that had all the structure I needed. There is a multi-level TOC, at least 4 more levels of hierarchy indicated by various key words (title, part, section, chapter) and distinctive fonts/capitalization.

Check the uploads. After much fiddling and poking and prodding, I think it turned out credibly well. Now, if we can just get some better tools!
