Yup...he's one of my top 5 favorite authors.

Nice to see now, in part thanks to the copyright laws allowing his work to be in the public domain in the US, he's getting the recognition he didn't really have back in the day.

I'm sure you know, but for others, he killed himself because he couldn't earn a living any more at writing, his latest novel getting rejected

Ah, okay. Had me thinking. Google didn't come up with anything

The last book I read was in ePub, which is the only format I use. It's the best on the Kobo, Mobi doesn't really work very well.

Ain't it amazing how an ereader determines the formats that you're willing to use? When I had a Kindle, ePub wasn't even on my radar. Now that I have a Kobo, Amazon's alphabet soup of formats is almost ignored. (I still read mobi files on my Vox, but only the stuff that I purchased a while back.)

It depends on the device. Some devices allow you to be format indifferent by allowing you to install multiple readers, so you can read one book on your Kindle app, the next one on the B&N app, the next one on the Apple app, the next one on the Kobo app, etc. Others are just easier if you strip the DRM and convert everything to the native format.

I tend to convert everything to .epub now, unless the .pdf font size works for my eyes.

Usually ePub for me but I also read Mobi, PDF, and Doc depending on what's available or my mood.

The last book I completed was EPUB so that's what I checked. Although I'm currently reading two books: fiction on my T1 (EPUB) and non-fiction on my K3 (MOBI).
