"Doctor Who" was my favourite TV programme as a child and 40 odd years later, it still is
![]() Patricia - the story with the Zarbi ("The Web Planet") is available on DVD. I suspect you'd find it a little less scary if you were to re-watch it now ![]() |

heh. "zarbi" means "bizarre" in verlan slang. i find that a highly appropriate name, for a doctor who monster.

I hadn't noticed the Verlan, though. Thanks, Zelda. (My first introduction to Verlan was reading Balzac's 'Spendeurs et misères des courtisanes', where Vautrin uses it when imprisoned.) |

holy cow, i had no idea it had been in use so long. i bet les djeunes des cités would be pretty stunned to find out they're speaking like Balzac as well. i will have to read Splendeurs et Misères.

i watched a lot of tv....
nick at night: bewitched, i dream of jeanie, odd couple, get smart, happy days, all in the family, wonder years, etc nick not at night: salute your shorts, are you afraid of the dark, pete and pete, rugrats, doug, ren and stimpy mtv: beavis and butt-head wb: anamaniacs, tiny toon adv, batman, spiderman, xmen, the tick fox: the simpsons, the xfiles, and whatever fox decided to put on between the simpsons and the xfiles. i also barely remember watching these shows when I was really really young: heman, g.i. joe, care bears, smurfs, transformers. i regrettably continued to watch these shows every morning before school throughout middle school and high school: mad max and beast wars. |
