Your lucky, we could not afford a radio when I was growing up. My dad painted dials on a box and he got inside and pretended he was a radio announcer. My favorite show was called: You kids have it too easy these days. It was all about how rough my dad had it when he was my age. His family could not even afford a box! I still remember the episode where my dad had to walk 10 miles up hill in the snow get to school. After school he had to walk ten miles up hill in the snow to get back home. Later when my family had some money saved up my dad cut a square hole in the box and we had television. Those were the days. I have always found the past perfect and the present tense.

We didn't have a lot of TV when I was a kid, but I did love a show called "Crusader Rabbit" ... a very smart rabbit who had a sidekick named "Raggs" the tiger. My best friend would be Raggs and I'd be Crusader. We had lots of fun playing that game.

I wish we had a box when I was kid. I mean, instead of the television that we had. Why is that we don't really learn the important stuff until it's too late

Hmm, in my case for the few years when we did have cable TV my favourite shows were

Force Five (5 different Anime shows dubbed and shown on different days of the week)
Robotech
Thunder Sub (The Dubbed version of Blue Noah)
Garfield & Friends
Small Wonder
M.A.S.H. (even though didn't understand half the humour till much later )
Knight Rider
Street Hawk
Remington Steel
The Fall guy

and not shows on Tv, but VHS tapes I literally wore out

Born Free
Mazinga Z
The Gods must Be Crazy
Hatari
Alladin (The older non disney animated version)
Thomas the Tank Engine (when I was a little bit younger)
20,000 Leagues under the sea (Animated version, am still trying to track down a DVD copy)
Lucky 7 / Seven Lucky Kids (Nice movie)

That's all that comes immediately to mind

You forgot that he was barefoot & had to carry his lunch in lard bucket. (Something Monte Python didn't know about.)

I can just remember the very first Doctor Who, on a Saturday night in 1963. How I hid behind the sofa in those days, or watched between my fingers. There was one particular alien monster, the zarbi, who always terriified me. They were giant ants. Unlike the daleks, cybermen and sontarans, they haven't reappeared in the new version of the series.
