I always remove the DRM, to my shame I'm not even sure if it is legal or not in my country. But I don't like the idea of buying something and having it locked to a company. This method of protection is useless, it doesn't stop at all those who want to distribute the books illegally. But it stops those who want to read a book in 2 steps but have to create an adobe account, authorize all the devices every time the SO changes or buy a new computer or device.
I offered a reader to my mother who isn't such computer skilled and for the first book she tried to buy online, we spent an hour on the phone dictating every step and still she blocked it because somehow the ADE didn't authorize. It's just a book, not a governmental software and I hope this protection goes dead as soon as possible.

I remove DRM as the first step whenever I buy a new book. I'm not interested in having my ability to use something I have purchased stripped away from me when a company changes their mind about supporting their own DRM, or goes out of business. I've been burned before.

I'm also not interested in a company dictating to me that I have to read on their hardware/software platform. Electronic devices are fragile and software changes.
