I am not fond of hot water as a drink, but ice cold water can be very refreshing. If its hot it need be coffee.

Sometimes we walk hand in hand by the seaAnd we breathe in the cool salty air You turn to me with a kiss in your eyes And my heart feels a thrill beyond compare Then your lips cling to mine It's wonderful, wonderful Oh so wonderful my love Sometimes we stand on the top of a hill And we gaze at the earth and the sky I turn to you and you melt in my arms There we are, darling, only you and I What a moment to share It's wonderful, wonderful ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH0_XfxnXWI ) Sometimes it's just plain nice to be in love... Good morning, everyone. Cold and rainy outside... I'm afraid it's going to turn into sleet pretty soon... But it's nice a warm in here, and I have a cup of steaming "Assam" tea, complements of the East India Company, to keep me warm. Nothing particularly interesting in the house for breakfast and I'm feeling too lazy to cook so it will just be a bowl of rice with some kimchee for flavor for my breakfast. Then I'll take the train into Osaka and see if I can replace my old winter shell jacket... without having to pay a King's ransom! I think I got about 10 years use out of the one I have now. I got my money's worth, I think! I prefer mountaineering shells as they tend to be more versatile for me than full parkas. I can vary the type of inner liner I use depending upon my activities. I just need an outer 'skin' that is waterproof, breathable, strong, with lots of pockets and no hood! Still no word from Astra... Stitchawl |

Worrying won't help. Send positive thoughts!

I prefer these to single warmer insulated jackets or parkas as I can use them all year around just by varying the liner I choose to use... or not use. It's just about time to sit back with a cup of Keemun tea and watch a good movie! Stitchawl |

Shells can be used for all activities they are just most commonly sold for people who are backpackers and hikers. They tend to be more lightweight due to backpackers concerns about carrying extra weight, and allow more customization in terms of layers so that people can use the layers they need for a given season. So a solid water proof outer shell can be used in the winter for snow with warmer layers that can be zipped in, during the fall for rain with different layers, and during the summer by itself as a rain coat.
I don't buy shells but I do buy all my outer wear gear with enough room to wear other layers under it. So my rain jacket is an extra large, which is big in the summer but can be worn over my winter coat when it is raining or snowing hard. It works great with two or three layers of fleece in the summer. It is just a different approach to layering that is sold to a crowd that is more concerned about weight and durability then the average person. |

Finished pot one of Rooibos Capetown. Working on pot two now. It goes nicely with my Asian Potstickers and broccoli for lunch.

Peet's Major Dickason's.
Still recovering from the drive back home. Nocked more out of me than I realized. Going to take the afternoon off and just read. Finished Quiet Magic (Lee&Miller), going to read the first Hobb Farseer book. That should require virtually no actual concentration or thought.

Some orangeade with zero added sugar.
My shoulder aches (incipient frozen shoulder - I have exercises from the physio that should fix it after a few months), and today I have some lower back pain (I suspect a nasty office chair yesterday) So some ibuprofen will be washed down by the orangeade too. |
