New Update 6.2 - Page 5

Unfortunately, 6.2 broke Android Market access on my wife's KF. I guess I'm back to attempting root again...

I wonder if the update fixed the "Get all your ebooks for free" flaw.

Let's hope so I actually had a MR member PM me wanted me to use the exploit to get them 3 books.

I never would do that, that's stealing.

I received that PM. I think it was spam.

My device is still showing version 6.1 as I just checked. The box alongside to update the KF is not enabled for me to select. Nor am I being prompted to update either.

If it was spam be sure to report it to the mods. I received an unrelated spam PM last week and reported it and they told me that if we don't report these they probably won't know about it. In my case, the spammer was banned from the site.

BTW: To report a PM, there is a square box with an exclamation mark in the upper-right of the message box when viewing a PM. Click that icon.

What's your battery charge level? My understanding is that the update will only work if it has a charge level above 40% or something. Maybe that's the reason?

Battery is 90%. I clicked on sync but still no evidence of an upgrade performing.

Edit: I put KF on standby and then it updated so I'm good to go.

When my kids were little and I'd tell them we didn't have money for something, they'd tell my , 'just go to the cash station and get some'.

Don't know if anyone noticed this before, but with Mantano reader and TTS, if the book is written in English, but you set the TTS to "French" (or Italian Spanish, etc.) the TTS will read the English words but with a French accent and pronunciation (or Italian, Spanish, etc.)

Kinda humorous!
