I use a separate .txt file for each chapter. It helps lock in stuff already written and prevents massive plot changes.

Aaargh that's me! I've only one scene to write and it's so not happening and the ones I have written in the last month are awful. Gah! It's all very frustrating. Clearly I've lost my mojo and my lap top battery has died so I can't do my usual and move around the house to write, I'm chained to my desk (tripple gah). It seems I've lost my mojo.

Oh and whoever was asking, mine's fantasy too. Heaven help me though, it's the second book in a trilogy but I'm not even sure what the title is yet.

Only at 15,379 at the moment. Course I have had to use my desktop as my netbook wasn't working right (mouse needed replacement) and the few around here were fairly expensive. Sitting at the desktop isn't the most comfortable unlike having the netbook on my lap. Anyway I found one through Amazon for just $3.05 total. No s/h costs added (or maybe it's part of the $3.05, I don't know. Anyway it arrived in the mail today so I hope to catch up a bit soon.

I've had trouble because of family, I'm only sitting at 34k. But I'm starting to get back in it and really type away. I'm determined to get there, even though I have to do over 3k a day to get there.

I finished this past tuesday, got my certificate and everything. Now to clean up the manuscript and get it copyrighted and stuff.

50k words in 17 days. Of course, now I have to write at least 50k more in order to finish the book...

I give, I won't win this year, but since I'll only be about 5k short, I feel that is an accomplishment. My husband came up lame tonight and might have torn something in his foot, otherwise I was on track to finish up tonight and tomorrow. For my first year I feel like I did great.

At least I have the book planned out, I just have to put some meat on the bones. That's farther than I've gotten before, on a book. I am about to head to town to take him to see the LAT and probably the doc, so I'm taking my laptop to type up what I have hand written and then continue writing. Maybe I'll get even closer than I thought.
The 5k short was including hand written portion as being typed, so that won't help.

mrscoach, how did it go?

My husband and just bought ourselves a Kindle as a reward for my NaNoWriMo. Believe it or not, so far I have been reading e-books on a desktop.

I'm still short, but I'm ok with that. I wouldn't give up the time I spent with my family this month. Especially because my children no longer live at home.
As for my husband, he tore his plantar fascia in his foot. That's good news because it will cure the plantar fasciitis (spelling?) he has had bothering him. He just has to get past initial pain.
Maybe next year.
