@ersott,

I do not know what the landscape mode is like in Kindle, however, this is the first Sony reader where the landscape mode works perfectly like it should in the original mode.

T1 Questions

A new question - does anyone have a feel as yet for how many titles the new processor in the T1 can handle? My 650 lost its ability to sort through the library after about 1200 titles. I am hoping the new processor in the T1 can sort through more than that.

How is this achieved? Just by going to the dropbox website and logging in via wifi internet?

Yes, that easy.

Dropbox has a nice mobile site at m.dropbox.com. When you download an epub from there, the T1 will scan it and automatically add it to your library on the device and will appears in the "Books" section.

Thanks wachuko,

I ended up getting one. It works very well and seems like good protection, but is a pita to get the reader out. I like to read without the cover, but like the cover when I'm taking it somewhere.

Thanks again for your reply.

I saw in another thread a post that suggested the T1 does not support the LRF format, and the specs from the Sony site are not the best. My main reason for staying with Sony is that all my books or in the LRF format. I know calibre can change these, but I prefer the LRF's on my 600.

No, LRF is now a dead format, like LIT.

Some may mourn, but I think standardization is good, and epub is a good format.

Especially since Sony gave up their own format for one owned by a different organization, and will grow/expand under that organization (see ePub 3.0 which is getting to the point where people can start implementing support for it).

Bought one today at BB.
I like the size and weight of it quite a bit compared to my 300.
I am not a fan of the reader library compared to the library my 300 uses.
My main complaint is not being able to delete a book from the T1 as I can on the 300...or possibly I do not know how.
I could single click/right click/delete the book from my 300 and it was gone. I can not do this on the T1 and I do not like that at all. In fact it may be a deal killer. I do not like to carry my entire library on the reader. Just too many books for me. I prefer to have 6-10 at the most and delete them after reading them.

If anyone can advise me on how to delete a book from the T1 I'd be grateful.
I also have the latest version of Calibre and it does not "see" the T1. Is this because Calibre is not yet T1 ready or, again, am I doing something wrong? Calibre "sees" my 300 just fine.

I'll be using the T1 tonight, 11-7 shift this week so a lot of reading time...fingers crossed hehehe...

There is a beta with the T1 driver in it, but I'd recommend waiting until the official release for it at this point. There are a couple bugs that affect Windows users with it that I need to fix.

OK, the T-1 in our house is hubby's and after giving it to him, I've been mostly hands off. However, you can delete books directly from the device, I put some books on when the reader arrived to test operation before I gave the device to hubby, and then I deleted all of them from the device itself.

Go to Books (from Home Page), press Menu button, hit Delete Books and you should be able to select the books you want to delete.

You can also press & hold on a book in the list to bring up the option menu for delete. Same for removing a book from a collection. There are quite a few things you can do by press and hold on an item besides the dictionary as neat shortcuts.

You cannot delete your books if you have transferred them through the new Reader software. That's because they have been set-up for syncing by this method. The new software only support transfer by syncing, unlike the old Reader Library software which had more transfer options. Therefore, I transferred my books to my T1 by drag-and-drop through Mac Finder (Windows Explorer) rather than through the Sony software.
