Let me add my condolences.

I always admired the maverick genius who created products that never failed to capture my imagination.

RIP

I was neither a fan nor foe of Steve Jobs personally, but I acknowledge the positives his work brought into my life and I wish him Rest In Peace after a long fought battle with a terrible disease!
Ok RIP..to him...but it reminds me of when Lady Di kicked the bucket and you get housewives in Califorinia and Chile crying about a Princess from England but who at tht same time would not go to a funeral or say hi to neighbor who lived down the street. Sorry, I find worship of most iconic figures midling to pathetic in many ways...

No company is a "one man" thing. It is always a team's work! But you always need a leader who can discover those human resources and join them together in order to create and work together for something that can generate some impact on today's society and world's economy.

Please, let's put personal feelings aside and keep this thread with positive comments about him.

I also dislike some of his marketing strategies, but I must admit was a great leader, visionary and CEO. I'm sure you recognize that as well.

What you call worship, I call being human.

Although I was not a housewife, or wife of any kind at the time of her passing , I did mourn the death of Princess Di because I knew her as a humanitarian and the mother of young boys. I can't bare the thought of losing my mother now and I am almost 40, so I have no idea what it was like for her sons.
Oh, and just for the record, I say hi to my neighbors every time I see them, especially when we enter each others houses without knocking!!

Hmmm... I think you should study the history of the IT world before making such broad comments. I think people like Thomas Watson, Adm. Grace Murray Hopper, Ken Olsen, Ken Thompson, Nolan Bushnell, Bill Gates, and Linus Torvalds, among others had just a little hand in changing the IT world...

If I were interested in telling you what to do, you would know it. As for your personal attack about my being a sheep -

I guess you don't know what its like to have someone treat you with a modicum of respect. How very sad for you. I hope you feel better about yourself, now.

And here I thought that people would be smart enough to ignore the folks with picket signs at the funeral.

No man is perfect but some seem to rise above and capture peoples imagination. I have a feeling that Steve's positive and negative traits are going to pretty similar to many of the other well known and regarded entrepnuers (sp) in history. While he was not the sole force behind Apple, he is the face that many people recognize.

He was willing to take risks at Apple and Pixar that lead to the development of some amazing devices and movies. He was someone who helped to push the envelop and in doing so changed the world that we live in.

The day after his death I think it polite and respectful to acknowledge that one of the people who was known for his innovative spirit and risk taking behavior, whose decisions helped to chang the world we live in, has passed. There will be plenty of time and books and articles discussing what he did right and what he did wrong. We all know that they are coming.

Today I feel sorry for his family and friends who have lost someone that they loved and cherished.

No, I don't. I know what I said, and I consider myself very well educated. I'm not going to continue "feeding" your non sense angry/hate comments.

But something is for sure, Mr. Jobs did much more on world's history (and positive) than you!

Just to be clear... my comments should not be taken as positive or negative. I offer my condolences to his loved ones... as earnestly and sincerely as I would offer them to any other human on the planet who has lost someone close to them. That is all.
