Considered general etiquette not to multi-post in most forums I participate, but if it's otherwise here that’s fine.

We have no rules on it. Please feel free to use the own judgement as to when and if it's beneficial to multi-quote.

No, the Kindle doesn't support ePub; if that's your requirement, look elsewhere.

The Kindle's main file format is Mobipocket. Unfortunately this doesn't support right-to-left languages such as Hebrew and Arabic. You can use Hebrew PDF files on a Kindle, but it's not really very satisfactory.

I'd look at ePub devices, which do support Hebrew.

JSWolf, Being new here, I hadn't thought of that, but it can't be of widespread concern, can it? I haven't seem a "Reply to" box. Is there one?

I multi-quote all of the time and have never heard anyone complain about it, not even Jon, until his last post.

All of the forums on which I've participated have encouraged multi-quoting unless not supported by the software they are using.

I personally believe it is proper forum etiquette instead of "spamming" the board with multiple responses. Similarly, I think people should also edit their posts if adding information within a certain amount of time (say 15-20 minutes) instead of adding a new post behind the old. On the other hand, I feel adding a new post is the best option if more than a half hour has passed since the prior post.

But that's just my 2.5 cents.

Is it just me, or does it seem to be lots of angst on this forum lately about what is and what isn't right to post in the threads?

Ah, my man. You obviously need to spend some time with women who wish their men to be more "sensitive" and caring. It can be an education!

Don't worry about it. It really doesn't matter. Single quote or multi-quote as the whim strikes you. We have no "rules" about it. And that's the official word from the moderating team.

Well you know it's big when all but two of the MR Home Page "hot topics" are about Kindle.

While Kindle has apparently hit a grandslam home run, I hope that Nook steps up to the plate and hits one of their own. Healthy competition is good for all of us.

For there to be serious competition, B&N needs to start selling to Nook outside the US. It's not a device that even appears on the radar for most of us.

Good point. Now that the Kindle has been in the UK awhile, what is it's popularity compared to other e-readers?

It totally dominates the market. Nothing else even approaches it in popularity. Their big "coup" has been to get it into innumerable high-street stores, so you see it everywhere.
