That's what eBay (and other online resellers) is for. Works for me.

There was 20% off laptop computers coupon that could save a person a lot of money if they were in the market for one. They've also had coupons for HDTVs, TV series on DVD, Kindle books for a dollar, music, video, outdoor and sports type products, Kindle covers, any physical product - save $5 on something that's $10 or more, $20 gift cards for $10 etc...

I'm not consumption oriented either... my favorite coupon so far was a 50% off groceries (which were already heavily discounted) and included a lot of natural and organic products among other things. I stocked up and saved over $200.00 with that one.

Groceries from Amazon? or are the discounts for non-Amazon properties too?

Are the deals generally available anyway? A lot of those discounts sound rather similar to all the general discounts amazon tends to have going on at various times (having purchased a few $1 ebooks myself).

Anyway I can't purchase many of said items from Amazon in my part of the world (with the ad model not being offered here), nor do I think it would be for me anyway. I can't say the prospect of sitting on the beach and pulling out my Kindle with an Ad on the front of it really appeals to me.

This post has a listing of all current offers.

Cheers. Interesting. All pretty short offer periods from what I saw, so still a lot of people likely buying stuff for the sake of (like groupon and other such things) unless it just happens to align with something you need/want at that point in time. Guess it keeps your economy going which seems to need it atm

These offers are generally not available otherwise. For example, there have been offers for 50% off a Roku box, 50% off Amazon gift cards, 50% off a lighted leather cover and 40% off a standard leather cover. I've never seen such huge discounts being offered to everyone.

Many members here have saved enough money from these offers to pay for their Kindles; making them essentially free. My Kindle has been paid for several times over from these offers.

If you were going to purchase said things anyway yes there does seem to be some decent savings, though on the flipside it can also be a rationalisation of spending more Anyway seems to work for you and others seem equally impressed. Some of them like the 20% off notebooks is rather decent with things like Apple machines that are never really on sale.

As I said I cant get said version anyway so it's a mute point for me, was just curious.

Here's hoping they discover a market for a Kindle Touch 3G that includes the buttons of the cheapy one at some point as the lack of at least page turn buttons killed my interest in the touch models.

Portability is the obvious plus for these 7" tablets, it is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and light enough to hold comfortably in one hand, whereas I tend to only use my ipad at home.

Most of the upgrades they have can be done with an OTA upgrade.

Just saying.
On something like an eink reader the upgraders will be a bonus since those people are already amazon customers, the primary focus for any new devices will be to attract more customers to amazon whether they are from other eink readers or completely new customers entirely.

Fair point, but seems like Crowl is/was working his way through the thread; nothing wrong with holding off clicking that post button or editing the original post since there had been no further activity, or maybe Crowl isn't/wasn't even aware of said feature.

A "moot" point, not a "mute" point. Sorry, but this is an error that I find annoying .

Multi-quote breaks threaded mode. So it's not a good idea to use it for those that like threaded mode.
