I must admit that when you log on with your good morning songs they give me a nice pick-me-up in the evening. Thank you.

Cream tea - first cup of hot tea for the year. I can't drink it hot in the summer.

Welcome back, Astra! I hope your fast went fast! Sorry I wasn't here earlier to greet you, but we left early this morning for a ride.
Tea really is nice to come home to, isn't it. Regarding your comments about Yorkshire teas... It really IS a very cheap tea, but surprisingly good taste for one. It doesn't measure up to a Fortnumb&Mason tea, or an East India Company tea, but then, it doesn't cost what they cost either. I put it just a notch above Twining's "Prince of Wales" tea, cheap but good tasting. I do, however, find a BIG difference between their 'Gold' and the regular Yorkshire. I really don't care for the 'Gold.' It just seems bitter to me. Frankly, I wish I liked it better as I generally believe things called 'gold' or 'superior' or 'Excellent' are more suited to me, despite reality which proves me wrong... Stitchawl |

a glass of Italian Tokay, that cannot be called like that anymore, but that it is nevertheless quite agreeable.

![]() ![]() Most certainly Yes! I never thought I would think about it this way but here I am. Another funny thing from the fast. When it was over and they offered me something to drink, for a moment I contemplated what my brother-doctor suggested. Sweetened tea. 10 years ago if somebody would tell me that one day I would shudder only thinking of drinking sweetened tea, I would ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:
![]() I noticed the bitterness in "Standard" Yorkshire and didn't in its Gold version. I didn't notice any flavour in the former at all. Using your scales, I would put it a notch above Twilight English Breakfast and the Gold version two notches only. I am going to give a few more chances to Gold as a breakfast tea and in the office only to finish the 250g. The "standard" will get the last chance in the office tomorrow. If it is as bad as Twilight, as much as I hate to do it, it will go to r/bin ![]() My cup is empty. Finished cooked Pu-Erh. |

A cup of China oolong organic.
I dug out 2 old samples from NBTea today when I did spr...autumn cleaning on tea shelves. Tastes like a diluted roasted Tie Guan Yin Oolong. |
