Although we do groan, I think a good pun is its own reword...

(I'll go sit in the corner now with a glass of rum... Maybe play some cat vomit blues..)

The resident angel, BigGirl brought back from a business trip to Turin these pieces of chocolate, called Gianduiotti.

What to drink with chocolate?
Traditionally we drink Barolo Chinato.
Spoiler:
Barolo Chinato
Nebbiolo.

In the Piedmont region, old Barolo wine is used to make an after-dinner digestif known as Barolo Chinato. The bark from the South American cinchona tree is steeped in Barolo and then flavored with a variety of ingredients, depending on the producer's unique recipe. Some common ingredients of Barolo Chinato include cinnamon, coriander, iris flowers, mint and vanilla. The resulting beverage is very aromatic and smooth.[6]

we had a glas of that and found that the two, the chocolate and wine went very well together. Then I remembered that I had a bottle of a Sicilian wine that was supposed to go with chocolate. Ala

Spoiler:
Garnet red color with amber reflections. Intense, ethereal with hints of cherry and almond flavors. Taste sweet, warm, velvety, and very aromatic with a pleasant bitter aftertaste.
Vines selection of red wines with a strong Sicilian tradition, long aging in oak barrels and then flavored with a precious infusion of cherry leaves .
It iss particularly pleasant with sweet chocolate and almond.

very good.

Are those the one filled with something similar to crème fraiche ?

I am having a plate of semi warm spaghettis, had a horrible day, not so sure how tomorrow will be, every single deadline on the building site was NOT met. Superman is in an even worse mood than me.
Kids are adorable today, so that saves it all (I love it how they can be really difficult if they want, mostly on sync, but really have antennas for those days when they know/feel you could not take it. They just go as far as they think you can handle, and they are so right...).

Will read a bit, then go to bed because today is the "horror day" : morning at Ikea, on a saturday , to get something they most probably do not have on stock and needs to be ordered , but that we need next week , afternoon (if we survive the morning) at a bbq which I do not feel like attending at all (nice people, but they eat really late).

No no, they are the progenitors of Nutella. Chocolate and hazelnuts.

Best wishes for a bloody Saturday. At Ikea you could get their elderberry cordial which is not bad at all. If you have some Nordic taste.

I knew a man Bojangles and he'd dance for you
In worn out shoes
With silver hair, a ragged shirt, and baggy pants
The old soft shoe
He jumped so high, jumped so high
Then he lightly touched down

I met him in a cell in New Orleans I was
down and out
He looked to me to be the eyes of age
as he spoke right out
He talked of life, talked of life, he laughed
clicked his heels and stepped

He said his name "Bojangles" and he danced a lick
across the cell
He grabbed his pants and spread his stance,
Oh he jumped so high and then he clicked his heels
He let go a laugh, let go a laugh
and shook back his clothes all around

Mr. Bojangles, Mr. Bojangles
Mr. Bojangles, dance

... because it just that sort of morning.

Good morning, everyone! Saturday morning... again. A cup of Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea... again. A bowl of rice and miso soup... again.

I'm in a rut. Do you know the difference between a 'rut' and a 'grave?' Only the dimensions. That's all. Just the size. I need to do something really different today to break out of this... gotta think....

That should keep you really healthy! Did you know that "Priest's Medicine" was made from the bark of the cinchona tree? That stuff sold for thousands of dollars in Ancient China and Japan. It was the only thing that could cure the dreaded 'bad air' disease... Malaria!

Quinine comes from the bark of the Cinchona tree and was later distilled out to become the 'modern medicine' for treating Malaria, until recently replaced by more effective meds.

What medicine can I use to motivate some change here? Maybe I'll learn to play the tuba...

Vergnano with the Nespresso machine. And then, after that, maybe, it is possible that I take a nap. Yeah a nap. Under a tree. It is only 30°C in the shadow in this beginning of Autumn.

I am back! with a steaming cup of Milk oolong.
Still alive although 3kg lighter

Read a lot when I had some energy to, and played with a new HTC phone. I proved to myself a couple of points.
I was absolutely right in 2006 and before that, regarding reading off 3.4" screen - rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Any printed edition would be better even if printed off on A4. Reading off a backlit screen was even worse. Bloody disaster. But I had to try and see whether I was right or wrong. I also realised how good Sony Reader's touch screen infra-red technology was in comparison to HTC one. I also browsed the Internet a bit and again proved to myself why I disliked even my netbook's 10" screen as too small and uncomfortable, let alone 3.4".

Besides reading and playing with mobile phone there was little else to do.
Everyday, 3 times per day, they brought in a trolley full of steaming meal and very kindly: What would you like to eat and drink? They were very disappointed that every time I turned down they kind offers and said that the aroma of the food was fabulous and would satisfy my needs for the moment
One test was a funny one. In the beginning and in the end of the test they asked me to count backward from 100, detracting 7. They wanted to see whether the fast would slow me down. I didn't argue. AFAIK, I was supposed to count faster after the fast, because my mind and body were cleansed.... No? I wonder what they would do if one of our students from a computer department was in my place. College students nowdays don't know what is 1/2 or 1/3...counting backward without a calculator?!? would probably be equal to mind torture for them.

Then I washed my gear, uploaded the new pictures, and filled the washing machine... and then made a mug of Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea. I may never sleep again.
Nice to have you back with us
When in hospital and asked whether I miss food, my answer was No but I did miss my cuppa.
When I came home on Thursday, the first thing I did I made a cup of black tea. That was a treat! (I have eaten in Addnebrookes before leaving). Today is the first day when I made other types of tea but black. I wanted black teat only!

I have tried both Yorkshire and Yorkshire Gold loose tea. To be honest I am disappointed. Yorkshire looks almost like a dust from tea bags. Maybe slightly larger dust particles. Gold looks larger and tastes better but not by a lot. None comes even close to Fortnum and Mason. Yorkshire was no good even as a breakfast tea. Almost no difference vs. tea bags of Yorkshire Gold. It could not overpower food flavour. It was lost completely. Yorkshire will go to the office. Yorkshire Gold will stay at home for now, I will give it a few more chances. Tea House Emporium's English Breakfast is better.
Then again. I think I got as much quality as it costed me. Both tea are dirt cheap in Tesco. What did I think I could get if Taylors Yorkshire Leaf Tea 250g - £1.88 & Taylors Yorkshire Gold Loose Leaf Tea 250g - £2.12. As cheap as tea bags if not cheaper.

Two more tea off my list

What is the difference between peat and smokiness? I thought they describe the same flavour. But I am a relative newbie in scotch

I wonder whther you are going to believe me when I tell what I thought when I read the lines above.

The first part:
My composter arrived a few minutes ago.
I thought you were talking about cooked Pu-Erh.

The second part:
The Hubby went with a totally different...
This bit gave me a pause. I stopped for a moment and scratched my head (figuratively). My thoughts were: Hmm. I don't remember she ever mentioned he liked tea.
Sorry

Btw., re: older/younger spouses.
My Angel is 8 years older than I. I look younger than my age but noone could guess that she is older. Then again, we don't care. At all. to be honest, I was very surprised when I read this topic and at least three couples mentioned that husband was younger. It looks like my suspicions were right. Old prejudices et., n real life people seem to be reluctant to reveal it. I never cared what others thought about it. I told my colleagues at work and my parents from the very beginning. My colleagues at work, in Israel, were aghast. Something along the lines: Why do you need this grandmother! Let us help you find a nice Yiddishe meydele

Just put my son hard to work harvesting my splenda crop (1 plant) so he is pulling the leaves off one by one. Told him if he did that (it will take him a few hours) I would pay him enough to buy the XBox 360 game he wants. He been at it a while now and is starting to re-think the commitment LOL
